I was obviously kidding. I'm just not a skilled gamer so I play my games now on the easiest difficulty. I did do better than I thought I would in Elden Ring but I could never beat the game.

I dunno. Sometimes I wonder if games feel "harder' when we're older just because when we were young we didn't pay too much attention to how many times we would die and just immediately retry :p

I think games are much easier than they used to be when I was young and have been since the ps360 era when everything started having difficulty options with the one exception that since Dark Souls came out the action genre has had a high percentage of games without modifiable difficulty.

I’ve never actually gamed on a 8ktv to be able to comment on any improvement but upscaling also makes that a lot more attainable, you can use ultra performance dlss if you do 8k and I do expect consoles next gen to have actual AI upscaling similar to what nvidia offers. Does it matter vs just using a higher internal res and upscaling to 4k? Probably not much on 65”. But I think 8k will be the time to move up to 77”.

My sister has the 77” LG OLED mounted on her wall and it’s incredible.

I have a 77” 4k LG OLED. It’s in no way big enough to where 8k would really be worth it unless I was sitting like 3 feet away :p

I’m not the biggest believer in this chart tbh, but the jump between 4k and 8k isn’t as big as 1080p to 4k was (just like how SD to 1080p is even more noticeable than 1080p to 4k). The most noticeable thing is that you can sit super close and won’t notice any loss in quality due to the pixel density of 8k.

100” it is then :D

Honestly though I might be more interested in 8k AR glasses for that kind of size

TBF, I wish we could just skip 8k and go to 12k. There’s 0 aliasing at native 12k: I’ve been thinking of it as the “most important” resolution to get to because of that :p

Old school games were MUCH harder than today. Going back to 80s arcade machines (and home ports) demonstrates this.

Yea. NES was absolutely brutal even for adults at the time. Games are easier now for sure but maybe I lack patience rather than skill at my age. Especially since you can hold your own with difficult games.

But that was mainly as games were less than an hour in length to complete- the longevity came from having to repeat a cycle multiple times until you’d mastered a stage/level/game

No. Christmas shopping all done and my bank account is on life support.

Ok. I have a little bit of money left where I could buy you it but then I'd be dangerously low. You will love this game for sure so either buy it at Christmas with PSN cards or I could buy it for you.

No keep your money. Santa arrives next week so hopefully I’ll get some cards.

Just buy me Ball Sacks Gate 3

Gotta admit, it's even better than I thought it would be. Larian absolutely grand slammed on this one. Very situational, strategic and methodical but absolutely worth it if you even have a fraction of interest in RPGs. Reminds me a little of what Bioware USED to be once upon a time
