I wish some of you could come over to my place and help me with this game. I'm missing out on so much even though I feel I'm doing pretty good in advancing. But I'd love to know everything you guys do.

Online help is confusing for me, too.

Absolutely anything you could want help with is now on video on YouTube. What are you stuck on?

Weird. I literally just cut him down almost immediately on my way to the boss. I kinda forgot about him, tbh.

I thought Renalla was easy, but also incredibly fun to fight.

It’s possible I just wasn’t aggressive enough. But that fucker just kept parrying the shit outta me and then OHKOing

The one in front of Big Hairy's building? That was the hardest fight in the game for me by far as of yet. If you don't have the HP to survive a hit against each of its attacks, the difficulty just goes up and up, especially if you have low damage output. I've watched in horror as the fucker just decimated my tankiest ashes summon (which I save for when I'm really getting my ass kicked, always keep my favorite one fully upgraded) in a few hits.

Finally leveled up enough and got good enough armor to survive his hardest hitting attack, which I promptly dodged over and over since I was no longer panicking and finally brought him down. Crazy what less pressure does.

Actually I'm just talking about this weird little gimmick boss in a cave near the that massive Coffin Graveyard area. Kind of North-west of the Grand Lift up on the hill. He's literally invisible and has a grab attack that does 50% of my health bar instantly. Like not "he's in the dark", he's completely invisible. No idea what the trick here is.

Buy me a plane ticket and a pizza and I'll come over.

Creating a really good build for one. How to advance in the world without getting blocked in my mountains. Just all the little aspects in the game that improve you takes a lot of understanding. It's a complicated game.

Dude I've been playing these games straight for like a decade+ now and I still have no idea about a "build". I pump levels into stats I think are useful for what type of weapon I like to use and a whole lot into health & endurance...that's about it. People definitely do builds and all but I really don't think you should worry about that kind of thing on a first playthrough. I know it can make the game harder at some points but I don't know, I have yet to hit a point where I'm like "fuck my BUILD!".

I like Magic and Dex weapons so I dump my points into that, that's all.

Edit: But I agree, it IS a complicated game but also remember it's just a game and you're supposed to be having fun. And gladly, Elden Ring is the most lenient so far in terms of what you actually have to engage with vs. what's optional. A lot of that complicated shit? You don't HAVE to use it if you don't feel like it.

Finished the Academy last night. Boss wasn’t hard at all but was a fun fight. That asshole knight that’s guarding the elevator up to her is hands down the cheapest stupidest fuck youiest enemy I’ve faced so far. Fuck that guy.

I had a tough time with him, so I tried just running past him to the elevator. He disappeared and I got his hat or something added to my inventory. Not sure if that was intended or not, but I was happy to be done with him either way.

If you got an item, he probably ran after you and fell into the elevator shaft

I've been streaming my playthrough daily on Twitch.  You are more than welcome to come by and ask any questions and I can help as much as I can and explain and show as much as I can.  I'm still new to the Souls games in a sense, even though I played through all of them recently.  I just haven't done any actual research into builds and how a lot of deeper systems work.  I just kinda do what I think sounds good and it's worked out pretty well.

Oh yeah, when enemies go into that parry stance...do not lol. That's when I back off and hit them with magic or an arrow typically.

That's good to read. Thanks for calming my anxiety down lol.

Spoiler

Your summons can see him I think in most cases and should be attacking him to expose him, and his footsteps are visible in the water, so you can time your attacks and hit him out of invisibility.l

Ah, I was thinking about something else. There's a special torch you can buy near the capital that reveals invisible enemies like that.

I didn't feel like searching for it (didn't find the vendor until later) so I just watched his footsteps in the water and swung wildly and eventually killed him.

I figured there was an item at some point.

He just invisible-grabbed me several times and I just said fuck it and noped out.

Nah. Not the best place for you yet. Lvl 70 maybe?

Finished at 106 tonight. Found a place with just crazy runes, less than hour and I got 30 levels farming a single spot. I definitely think im powerful enough for end game. I have 4 great runes. I want to kill the last shardbearer, Mogh, Malenia, a few world bosses and little things before I go after the ending.

My mimic tear ashes are too stupid powerful and almost feels unfair.

I may or may not have found the area you're talking about...

Still rocking unsheathe. I’m not really seeing anything that’s better.

I like Bloodhound's Fang for its two part attack, it strikes for good damage and causes you character to flip out of harms way directly afterwards. Then you can hit R2 to automatically cause your character to warp thrust a second even more damaging attack. Its a hell of a combo!

I also have Bloodhound's Fang +6. Man, this game is just ridiculous. I went out to discover shit and I found multiple sites if grace, 3 new bosses one that I took down, and tons of sombering smithing stones.

I played again for 3 hours and the time flies by. Special game for sure.

So, what precisely did GRRM do for this game? The story, lore, and presentation all seem 100% in line with everything else From has ever done.

It's all 100% From-ish to the core. Even the fantasy names. I know he supposedly did something but you'd have to point it out and then convince me after.

Wait till the fang is +9 (I haven't been able to get the final stone yet). It's an absolute monster.

God, I can't believe I can't play the game until the 20th now. It's going to be such a long vacation lol.

Finally able to just buy a bunch of smithing stones. Got my Fire Zweihander up to +11, and now I'm cookin'. I'm glad they've made it so easy to swap Ashes of War in and out and really experiment with your weapons.

Where did you buy them?
