SaysWho? Posted March 2, 2022 Share Posted March 2, 2022 I'm around 8 hours into the game, I think, and it so far seems much easier than most Souls games. And while I'm not super deep into the game, I'm used to Souls games feeling very difficult at the beginning. The open world overall does give me more space to move. I was in a poisonous area not too far from the beginning facing Spoiler actual giant enemy crabs and I could easily outrun them on a horse and use sorcery from far away. The open world is easier, and Sorcery is definitely easier. My int/mind build is breezing through things I had to work for with my Vagabond. Tonight I got my ass handed to me for an hour straight on a boss in a dungeon in liurnia. Royal Revenant. He's just too fast for me. DS3 was pure claymore. Elden ring is probably gonna be pure Halberd. The unique wrapons are cool and look cool but like the claymore is the fast of all the great swords with good damage. Perfect for going in getting hits and dodging out. Halberd is weaker then the claymore but has longer reach. Im using the Baemore, works pretty good. Basically has the same move set from DS3. At some point I’ll watch build videos and figure out how to make proper builds for my second play through. For now just going with old reliable and doing the best I can not to spoil much for the game. Maybe when I get the option to respec I’ll start fucking around with other weapons. Then I saw what it’s special attack is, that thing is a cheat code. Your invincible for seeming the whole back flip. Finally killed that fucking Tree Sentinel. What an asshole he is. Took down Margit in two tries. Cleared the castle. Took down Godrick on my first try. Figured out the summoning lady quest and upgraded my Jellyfish and Wolves to +2. I was level 35 for the castle so probably a bit over leveled but whatever I’m too old to be running the same shit over and over for 3 hours haha. Then the vista when you come out the other side of the castle, holy shit. I feel like after 15 hours, that’s when the title crawl should have dropped 😂 Feels like the game is just now starting. I guess if you drop the stone off a cliff and it shatters you won't survive the fall. I threw one down an earlier area a while ago and it shattered but I jumped anyway and died. There's also a boss I need to beat in Godrics castle, but I've kinda just not bothered because im so high level now. I havetwo evergaols in liurna. Im finally done with the Royal Revenant. It took me at least 2 hours. I finally had to fight him naked for the extra speed, and even then it took 6-7 more tries, on top of the 30+ with armor. Also, did you guys beat the 3rd boss red wolf yet? You have to find a key to get into the academy where he's hiding. I looked it up and will try him today after work.
