Athletic shoe company Skechers said in a statement Wednesday that two of its executives escorted embattled musician Kanye West from one of its Los Angeles buildings.

He was desperately trying to get back at Forbes. He's exactly like Trump in that he'd upset with them because he cares about what other people think he's worth. Forbes had him at $2b with the Adidas deal making up $1.5b of his net worth.

The superstar rapper no longer has a place on the Forbes Billionaires’ list now that his lucrative deal with Adidas is over.

I'm sure this article sent him flying.

Look at the age breakdown. 53% of voters so far have been 65 or older. Are we going to have to wait for the boomers to die out to make progress?

Wrong thread, dude.

I listened to his interview with Lex Friedman, and it's incredibly clear that on top of manic episodes and severe delusion, he's also one of the most insecure people I've ever seen.

Constantly talks about his wealth, his dick size, how hot his ex wife is, how people don’t give him his due. How his genes are superior.  Kims genes are superior. His Jeans are also superior. Kims jeans are also obviously superior. He comes from the highest of stock, apparently.

It's increasingly clear he isn't well. If Brittany Spears wasn't capable of looking out for herself, why Isn't Kanye under conservatorship? Because he seems far worse than she ever was.

And I know people will say that mental disorders don't make you racist, which is true, except that paranoia and delusions will put you at far greater risk of falling for well presented arguments about terrible things like racism and antisemitism. And I personally think depression does the same, seeing the way extremism grew under lockdown when people had nothing to do besides jumping down rabbit holes while trying to keep it together.

Anyway, it seems his career is over. He brought that on himself. I just hope the guy has a friend close enough to him to try to get him the real help he needs.

If there is anything that Brittany taught me about conservatorships, it's that they should be used more sparingly rather than more often. I don't disagree that Ye is ill, but even if he had a court ordered conservator to look after his money, it wouldn't have changed the outcome here.

I also don't think his career is necessarily over. I hardly know anything about his music, but celebrities have done far worse things than issued a few racist tweets and remained relevant. I do think that his options for another gigantic Adidas like deal is probably shot through. I'm sure he'll be able to keep putting out music, but no one wants to be in Adidas' position again.

The point I was more trying to make is that one was under a conservativorship because she was a woman, but I didn't get it across very well.

I think the justification for Brittany's was more that she had been a celebrity since she was a young child and thus had been raised in an environment that supposedly left her unequipped to be a functional adult. I don't think that was the case more than many others in similar situations, but that makes her pretty different from Kanye West, who was a full grown adult when he started his rise to fame.

Not saying it wasn't dumb, just that they aren't identical.

I think it's funny how quiet the right wing media machine has been about all this. I mean, if any famous person states a nuanced and well-stated opinion about how Israel may be out of line in their dealings with Palestinians and you get giant "__________ is ANTISEMITIC!" headlines for weeks all over.

Not for their boy Kanye. I check the FoxNews.com homepage every single day (because I'm broken inside) and they have not had a single one of their lead stories be about Kanye through any of this debacle. Not a peep.

I do the same with fox. I check comments too. It's good to see what the crazies are saying. Same as Breitbart when something "big" happens.

I see it like this... the main article on Fox News is the forward-facing "coded" message... somewhat sanded down and written in a very calculated way to push the audience to a very specific and pre-determined point of view... and the comment section is the raw unexposed Id of the conservative mind. The "real" version of the article as it's meant to be interpreted by their audience of broken-down, emotionally stunted dimwits. It's the natural conclusion of following all the bread crumbs they've been laying down.

Fox News knows exactly what happens in their comments section. They understand that when they make their lead story about some random crime that happened in some random midwest city and the put up a picture of a black teenage that the comment section is going to be nothing but an endless stream of disgusting, vile racist hate speech... they know this and yet they allow it to happen. They want it to happen. They know anyone who reads the article is just a few twists of the scroll wheel away from seeing an endless stream of hate filled nonsensical half-truths... on literally any and every article. They know it and they like it.

It lets them get the "real" message out there with some amount of a lack of culpability. Hey man, it's the comments, we can't control it. It's just you know, what the people think...

But they know, they 100% know. That's why articles like the Paul Pelosi assault have the comments turned off. Because if they were on, they know their audience would be condoning and applauding the attack. They know this because they encourage it. The designed it that way. It's the whole point.

There's a weird notion today that people need to divest any knowledge that clamors at their moral purity. Much of it comes down to infanticizing the opposition. Trump the pathetic, Elon the loser, etc. But that doesn't change the fact that these people have a massive reach into the muddy murk 'right thinking' people avoid. Know thine enemy. Jan 6 was planned in plain sight. The ongoing investigations are frankly a farce. It's not the time to dig your heels. This is time to prepare.

this has kinda also spilled over into the nba. celtics guard jaylen brown is mad he was “forced” to leave kanye’s sports agency and doesn’t seem to have a problem with what kanye has said.

then kyrie irving tweeted this antisemitic doc

and basically doubled down and got mad when pressed about it

Kanye West was filmed reportedly in Los Angeles where he held an impromptu press conference to a crowd of people and answered questions and made statements.

When the idea of Black Lives Matter came out, it made us come together as a people,” he says. “So I when said that and I questioned the death of George Floyd, it hurt my people. It hurt the Black people. So, I want to apologize [inaudible] because God has shown me by what Adidas is doing and by what the media is doing, I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now. So thank you God for humbling me and letting me know how it really felt. Because how could the richest Black man ever be humbled other than to be made to not be a billionaire in front of everyone off one comment.”

If you want to see Kanye ramble for 15 minutes straight in a parking lot there is a video.

Yeah, but Brittany shaved her head, showed her ass, and got married.

Kanye is actually pushing hate speech, and doubling down, while also harassing her ex and her boyfriends. They weren't identical, Ye is far, far worse.

Antisemitism isn't exlusive, or even "mostly just" whites. The black community has plenty of homophobia and sexism, which has been fairly common with the black men I know of my generation (but not any more prevalent than among white men). Especially a lot of the black power movement. Ignorance isn't limited by skin color.
