Single player games are the truest expression of the artform

Lesser folks like to deride single player games as endeavours of non consequence. Here lies mutliplayer pvp, whether COD, chess, sports, or even uno, the exact parameter of success is to dominate your fellow participant. This is a tragic retelling of the toxic heart of the human soul, reptilian and entirely of spinal reflex. It's a prerogative of making lesser people of your opponents, and that victory must be wrested from your fellow man.

Single player games, on the other hand provide a point of mortal danger, and within these difficult  scenarios, we witness friendships blooming, families and loved ones holding dear an tight to each other. And what truer mission is there to the human condition. We must dissent against the games of segregation, and invite a coalition of those who care as much as you do about the fate of the world. So the antagonist isn't man, but powers that threaten to tear us apart. This is how heroes are made. Through mutual agreement and taking care of each other, our heroes overcome impossible odds, find themselves in impossible situations, but there's always hope, the possibility of progression, so the great evil may be smote, and the lands can finally celebrate away. Because this is the true essence of heroism, the personal input against an enemy that covets the human spirit. And videogames teach you to meet and surpass what was thought once impossible.
We're not enemies, both you and I. And together we can slay that dragon, cancer.

I agree. Over the course of our human entanglement over a large rock hurtling through the cosmos, we must stop and consider our telling of the history through our modern medium, the interactive electronic visual stimulus. As we strive to overcome the virtual odds, whether alone or with an estranged and distant, yet closely-knit collection of individual beings, we must also combine the intellectual singulars into a whole, and use our collective consciousness to dispell the fictional challenges to which we willingly subject our dexterity. Remember, only you can prevent forest fires. Live long and prosper. Touchdown.

God I hate that game.

Ive tried to get into it multiple times, and im convinced people like it because they like Kojima.

I mean it's one of my games of the gen and I couldn't care less who made it. It's a weird fucking game, no doubt about that. I see why people hate it. I think I have like 250 hours in it across versions

Based! Some Kojima stans at the time might've gone overboard w/ geeking out over it/riding his dick, and it was provocative, confounding and angering for many experiencing it too so definitely some truthful points here ^_^

My favorite Kojima games are actually MGSV and Death Stranding. Pure fightin' words.

Yeah, I mean, im not upset anyone likes it, its just one of the few games where I really couldn't find something in it I cared about. It just never felt fun at any point in my 12 or so hours with it.

Last time I remember being that disappointed by a new game was Lord of the Rings on SNES. Wow, that was some wasted money. I still have it, it's a reminder of what pain and sadness feels like. 💔
