stepee Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Resident Evil Village launch date leaked in massive Capcom ransomware attack - Polygon WWW.POLYGON.COM Looks like RE8 is in April which is cool. Not mentioned in the article is that a lot the leaked stuff coming out reads like ace attorney fanboy fan fiction, though in this case real since this seems legit. Quote

After watching the Netflix series it made me want another one even more. Luckily I never beat the Dark Arisen expansion so that gives me a reason to revisit the game at some point. I probably won't get to it until sometime next year though. Quote
Keyser_Soze Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Only $5 million for RE VR? They are really lowballing their own franchises. Quote
DPCyric Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 I hope RE4 on Quest is true I still haven't played it and that would be an immediate purchase for me! Quote

Sony willing to pay $5 million so people on PC can't play RE7 in VR seems like a tremendously stupid waste of Sony's resources. Not like Xbox had VR. 2 Quote

gamer.tv Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Really looking forward to RE8 and just slightly related, I've just started Ace Attorney on the DS for the first time. It's been good - though a fair bit of reading and clicking to get through after a long day of work.. Quote
skillzdadirecta Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 I'm curious about the Resident Evil BR game. Quote

The initial cases are going to be pretty standard. In the original game, Case 3 gets more in-depth, and 4 and 5 have more elaborate mysteries surrounding them. I love Case 5 in particular. Even though most people I see rank the second game below the first and third, Justice for All's final case is possibly the best of the first trilogy. Quote

skillzdadirecta Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Yeah I can only HOPE that a Final FIght Remake is a full reinvisioning and not just an update side scrolling brawler with improved graphics like Streets of Rage 4. I played and enjoyed that game a hell of a lot, but I want someone to bring the brawler/beat em up genre into the modern age. Full open world, character creation and customization and a combat system that is visceral/brutal and cinematic. Basically The Raid the video game. Last of Us 2 came pretty close with its combat sytem. Build on that and give me a full game centered around it. Quote

I have the same thing in mind and have wanted a fully fleshed-out 3D version of SoR/FF for ages but at the same time think for some reason that genre is entirely relegated to nostalgia at this point. However...this isn't coming out till '24 apparently so that's a long time in the oven if they're starting on it soon and makes me wonder if it is something 'bigger' than just some lame update. Hoping for that fleshed-out 3D take, expecting basically the same mechanics with maybe a basic-ass combo system added in that boring 2.5D style Capcom has been doing for Street Fighter since IV. And I have yet to play TLoU2 but...that sounds enticing. Quote
stepee Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 Why does a Final Fight remake need another 4 years lol. Quote

I hope they let you fight for longer than 45 second arenas in part 2. That was my big frustration with the first one, I ended up loving the combat actually but it constantly blue-balled me with arenas that were over in like 30 seconds followed by a 2 minute cutscene. The melee system in TLOU 2 is unreal, but it happens very fast and like the first game it's not really a primary combat strategy. But the animations and the way they blend together is so advanced and unprecedented that the game feels like it's from 5 years into the future. Quote
