  1. Pop is slang in German for fucking, so I can't ever hear someone say that with a straight face.
  2. I have to have a Dr. Pepper once in a while. It's so fucking American for me, I secretly love it. It's like all I dreamed about escaping as a little commie child bottled up at once!
  3. I'm totally hooked on The Surge again. That game sucks me in so hard every time I start it up. The atmosphere and general eeriness can be cut with a knife.
  4. This has been on my list for a while. Dishonored was fucking great and I absolutely love Prey. Will be picking this up soon and throwing in my two cents. On the other hand, speaking of Immersive Sims, I keep bouncing off Deus Ex: Mankind Divided despite having really enjoyed Human Revolution. I've tried three times now and the game is beautiful, plays well but feels weirdly overwhelming to me in its tutorial stage to the point I lose interest and just play something else every time so far. Visually, HUD-wise, gameplay-wise...it feels so incredibly busy I get overwhelmed and just quit.
  5. Cool, curious to see what the deal is. A24 tends to release movies I dig so it's got that going for it.
  6. I don't really trust reviews and would rather hear some impressions on here if you've seen it.
  7. The movie was so good, funny as fuck. Gotta check into this, thanks for the heads up as I wasn't even aware a show was being made.
  8. Upon actually producing his stupid campus ID, rent-a-cop decides to double down, what else of course, and continue to escalate this embarrassment of a situation.
  9. Fuck, the second-hand embarrassment was so severe watching this walking cliche of a man. Not-Native-American person dropping "who doesn't belong here" just makes me want to hit pause and simply explain how absurd this statement is.
  10. I'm not sure what I was expecting from a Collection. These fucking things are always designed from the ground up to frustrate you by being incomplete and featuring at least 70% filler crap you don't want to play to try to force you to buy the inevitable Collection #2.
  11. Sorry but I also can't wrap my brain around considering this particular content problematic and social-action-worthy when seemingly the vast majority of top-selling games released on their platform feature incredibly extreme violence. I ultimately don't care if they do so personally but just find it all a tad absurd and can't help but find the irony somewhat staggering. And yes, I've seen the back and forth responses on here arguing about this and I still feel the same way about it.
  12. Shit, I didn't realize it's the guy who made Dog Soldiers and The Descent before bashing the dude solely based on how lame and unnecessary this looks when the Del Toro films exist.
  13. I already saw it when it was helmed by a good director and had great actors in it.
  14. I feel like my username qualifies me for this thread.
  15. I've been out of town, admittedly partying, and I just saw this news this morning somehow. Being a huge fan of architecture and having seen it with my own eyes twice, that's seriously brutal. Edit: Reading this thread further, it looks like it wasn't nearly as bad as first expected. And gladly nobody actually cares about utter nonsense like restoration donations going to completely unrelated causes.
  16. I honestly feel like it would work better for you exactly because you're not a fan of the series compared to some of its critics. On its own merits, I think it's a fantastic and one-of-a-kind game, period, but I can see why long-time fans were disappointed. It's totally different.
  17. I had actually considered maybe picking this up for a few games and the BC for Ninja Gaiden and some other stuff... $250...
  18. I somehow truly love holding down Triangle button in MGSV while running and he seamlessly hops and climbs over terrain and keeps running. Also love that wind rushing noise when running. The game is just full of incredible minutiae that really adds up to a great experience. Edit: But my absolute favorite goes to From's ambient sound design since Demon's Souls. This is something I rarely ever see brought up in reviews or at all but their background ambient sound is incredibly atmospheric. Sekiro has been keeping this trend going and has absolutely great background sound design as well.
  19. Hey everyone. No I have not bought anything yet, a bunch of other expenses came up and had to put this on the backburner unfortunately. And yes, to reiterate, modern AAA games and so on are definitely not something I want to get into on PC. Consoles have always done the job for me and I prefer not having to fuck around with hardware and updating etc. Dolphin and 'below' (PS1 etc.) emulators are all I'd like to be able to get going. Really want to get into Metroid Prime 1 and 2 with upscaled visuals. Will read through these last few recommendations soon!
  20. This is the next puzzle game I'd like to try after first enjoying and then bouncing off The Witness. Let's see how that goes when I pick it up!
