Yea I take that back. I just needed a break. I rarely play through new games this relatively quickly for my standards and the difficulty was wearing me down. Palace area is splendid and I dig the gimmick boss.

That was technically...Dynamite Cop I believe?? Aka Die Hard Arcade. There was a killer Saturn port. Absolutely played that game to death. The amount of weapons was so good. On topic: My friend had Stubbs and I honestly never took it as anything but a bad novelty one-trick-pony when I played it but I mean, I'm probably wrong. It's been ages. The movement was also thoroughly obnoxious with those relatively big spaces.

From's output in the past decade has done the exact opposite and has gone on to massively influence the industry exactly with their stubborn adherence to a strong vision. Since this topic is basically about From, I completely disagree when it comes to their particular design philosophy. And not responding to you but I see a lot of talk about diversity of experience, individualism, "not everything is for everyone" and so on yet when one studio bucks all sorts of trends and succeeds gloriously against all big corporation AAA rules...please change your design philosophy and recipe for success, it doesn't appeal to everyone. You're just stating your personal preference for more accessible games ultimately though with that. It doesn't prove that more uncompromising games like Hollow Knight in this case have a lesser vision or are of inferior quality and/or commercial viability. They both basically have the same metacritic score even, with HK being a few points higher depending on platform. HK has also sold 2,8 million copies as of some months back, can't find data for Ori after a quick googling, but I mean, I see no evidence of it being hampered as a result of being "uncompromising" compared to Ori. And I feel like I have to point out that I don't agree with many of HK's "uncompromising" decisions even personally but it's pretty damn beloved generally and that aspect is probably a huge factor for many fans.

I'm curious to see how the raw gameplay and mechanics fare in reviews and impressions. I find the game in general off-putting but am curious how the gunplay and everything will come out. If it's fun, I might pick it up on the cheap later sometime. -

I can't even begin to attempt to comprehend how what she achieved was done. I know, like with any field, there are stepping stones and all makes sense in time but fucking hell... So I'm entirely too stupid to get this most likely, but here goes for those interested: -

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel / Season 2 - 9/10 I really dig this show front to back and season 2 was actually much more interesting and generally great. The sets, costumes, dialog, atmosphere...everything works and is beautifully realized. The most appealing aspects of this show are its subtlety and refreshing relative lightheartedness to me and it does it splendidly and smartly without devolving into meaninglessness.

I tried ASII when it came out and thought it was an incredibly boring and janky game so I never touched the series again.

If you haven't noticed, on the upgrade paths, you can hit Triangle (or whatever you're playing on) to switch to a second window which shows you which moves it adds. The shuriken can be held down on R2 for and you toss a spinning triple thing that sticks on them for a second, I use it a lot. Firecracker was more the question for me because I keep using it mainly in boss fights and I guess that's why I haven't seen the natural improvement not having used it against groups. Looks like it adds a 360 AoE. I really dig the umbrella myself, it's gotten me out of a lot of obnoxious attacks later on.
