Major projection

Democrat Michael Feggans has defeated GOP Del. Karen Greenhalgh in Virginia’s HD-97

This gives Democrats at least 51 seats in the House of Delegates for a majority

Gov. Youngkin is looking at a double brick wall now

In Bridgeport, Conn., a judge found evidence of mishandled ballots in the Democratic primary for mayor and ordered a revote. But first, the city will hold a general election. After that? Stay tuned.

I don't get it.  I vote absentee in Ohio every year.  The ballot is in an envelope that has my info printed on it, that I also have to fill out and sign.  The Ohio SoS website has a tracker so I can check to make sure the county Board of Elections has my ballot and it's slated to be counted on election day.  They don't just open the box and count everything shoved in.  I figure if Ohio does this then at least the East Coast has been doing it longer.

Voters are poised to pass at least 13 of 14 propositions, according to early returns that began coming in on Tuesday. The measures include new funds for state parks, water infrastructure and broadban…

Property tax cuts, a raise for retired teachers and billions in investments in infrastructure, research, tech and energy appeared headed for passage as voters showed their approval for more than a dozen constitutional amendments, according to early returns on Tuesday night.

But a measure to allow judges to retire at a later age appeared to be going down, with barely over one-third of Texans voting for it.

And a few others — including a property tax exemption for biomedical inventory and equipment from property taxes, were passing by only slim margins.

Yes, but have you considered Newt Gingrich's sage wisdom?

Former GOP Speaker Newt Gingrich says that Tuesday's elections will serve as a "fascinating test" of whether President Biden's low approval ratings sink Democrat turnout.

Quote

"This is a fascinating test, first of all because Gov. Youngkin has done a great job, he's at about 57% approval, so he's bringing a lot to the table, and he has raised a fair amount of money," Gingrich said. "The Democrats understand if they lose badly tonight in Virginia that's a terrible omen for 2024 and will increase the demand that Biden quit running for reelection."

At least nine Hinds County polling places ran out of ballots over the course of Election Day as voters headed to the polls to elect a governor and to vote for other statewide, legislative, regional and local offices. Hinds County includes Jackson, the nearly 83%-Black capital city.

So—hope porn of tonight’s election results, or doom porn of all the polls showing Biden trailing Trump?  Which kink better tracks what’s likely to happen on election night 2024?

I’ll go with the former because you gotta wonder “who the fuck is actually answering their phone to an unknown number in 2023 for these 1200 people polls”

Exactly: a bunch of 80 year olds hoping it’s their grandchild calling and has Fox News blaring in the background.

I was a loan processor back when Obama was running for re-election....always fox news..always loud AF. If I had to talk to the same person more than once and I knew they had to bring up Obama (because he was why I needed a paystub or bank statement...obviously)  I'd call them at the end of my day and tell them I was getting ready to meet my family at church but wanted to call them before I left to try and get them off the phone ASAP.
