He could have made the special election in March and given time for the primary to work its way out but instead we had less than 2 weeks from the declaration of the election to select a candidate, including finding polling places and volunteers to man them at the last minute. *the republicans have one election site open from 10-3 on this tuesday. These will have to be hand counted as e.g. I had to shove my ballot in one of the boxes and it was not an easy fit. Record turnout though!
