Israel be genociding thread

The only real way to make the Israelis become serious about any type of solution is for the United States to threaten them with "derecognition" because that will open the door for the Europeans to follow suit.  That's the ultimate stick when it comes to Israel.

(Not that the United States should've recognized the independent Israeli state in the first place in 1948.  Truman should've listened to George Marshall, James V. Forrestal, George F. Kennan, Robert Lovett, John J. McCloy, Paul Nitze and Dean Acheson who all strongly opposed Truman's rush to recognize - it would've saved the United States a helluva lot of Cold War headaches).

If you could get Israel in board with such a threat a two state solution could work. You'd need the US and European nations to draw up borders and force Israelis out of Palestinian lands they've settled over the last decades. It's not like you can make a viable country out of a million enclaves surrounded by a nation that hates you. On the Palestinian end, it would require the election of a new government with respect to borders and each nation's sovereignty. Any encroachment by either nation would have to be viewed as an act of war with US/European nations backing the aggrieved state.

Ask the Ukraine how reliable US/European nations are at backing an aggrieved state.

But don't take it from me!

Wilder was fired from the AP and told she violated their social media policy.

Quote

"There's no question I was just canceled," Wilder told SFGATE by phone Thursday afternoon. "This is exactly the issue with the rhetoric around 'cancel culture.' To Republicans, cancel culture is usually seen as teens or young people online advocating that people be held accountable over accusations of racism or whatever it may be, but when it comes down to who actually has to deal with the lifelong ramifications of the selective enforcement of cancel culture — specifically over the issue of Israel and Palestine — it's always the same side."

Love to be out here leveling buildings in order to destroy...

*checks notes

...some fucking computers.

Anytime someone wants to talk about the strength of IDF intelligence, I want them to reconcile that with the decision to level a building being used by the international media in order to destroy, at best, some computers.  Does Hamas not have iCloud or something?  Were they loaded with dank RTX cards that they'll need to get in a lottery for now?  I've made better tactical decisions in Starcraft and my entire strategy in that game is just to hear the words "nuclear launch detected."

“Anti-Israel isn’t “Anti-Semitic” they always say. Yet anti-Israel sentiment always leads to increased attacks on Jews everywhere

Anti-Israel isn’t always anti-semitic, no. It is for some, though, and that is tragic.

Agreed. Two things:

A lot of pro state of Israel folks want you to inseparably conflate Judaism and jewishness with the Israeli state just so they can buttress criticism for the crimes of the state with anti semitism.

Two, being for/supporting the state of Israel doesn't mean you're not anti semitic! There's plenty of anti semites who support the state of Israel! (See basically the entirety of the American right, "They get 'their state' there so we can have 'our state' here)

You expect opportunistic bigots to exercise nuance?  These are the same idiots who yell at Koreans to go back to China and take their flu with them.

Also all the end times stuff that requires an Israeli state to exist.
