Also.. is it sad that I have to weigh the worth of a video game vs the double cheeseburger I can get instead? Cuz I mean.. it's a pretty delicious cheeseburger.

I've never played Anthem, but it's on sale on Xbox Live for about 9 bucks. I know that EA/Bioware are kinda "reinventing" the game, even though they only have a handful of people working on it and have no timetable as to when/if it might ever see the light of day. I'm wondering if it might be worth picking it up for $9 now and maybe just sitting on it until whenever they re-release it, thus avoiding whatever "new game" price they slap on it. But then there's always the chance that it might never come out, or that it might re-launch as a Free-to-play game a la Destiny 2, in which case I might be out nine bucks. Thoughts?

I just got the new GRID on MS's racing sale a few days ago, and it's pretty solid. It's a great throwback to the Simcade days of the early 360/PS3 gen. It's pretty barebones though, which is unfortunate. I remember the original GRID had a story mode with cutscenes and if you rubbed/hit somebody enough on the track you'd get a post-race cutscene of the person confronting you and bitching you out. It was actually pretty great, I wish Forza Motorsport would actually go the story mode route. One of the best things of the original GRID that I think (maybe) they brought back to the table was the fact that there was always a chance of an accident. I loved that there was always a possibility that the A.I. drivers would fuck up. I hate games where they race a perfect lap every damn time.

My opinion that nobody talks about Days Gone wasnt hinting that it wasnt a good game or that it didnt get supported, its just that whenever someone is talking about PS4 games there's always plenty of talk about Horizon ZD, God of War, Spiderman, TLOU, etc. and Days Gone is usually a passing comment or excluded entirely.

6. AC Unity? No. Fuck that game. They might have fixed some bugs but the canned animations in that game were the worst since the original AC. Anyone who ever got caught in a stagger loop knows what i'm talking about. The problem with Sea of Thieves is that if you're solo, GTFO.

This looks like one of those games that everyone is going to be hyped for yet no one will be talking about two weeks later. Kinda like how Days Gone came and went.

I didn't have the privilege of getting burned by a Sega console until the Dreamcast came along.

It kinda reminds me of Fiesta in San Antonio. Fiesta usually lasts about two weeks and consists of festivals, music, dances, etc. etc. that happen all over town. They're completely independent, but if you want to call it a "Fiesta" event, you have to pay the city for the rights to use the word "Fiesta." The result is a bunch of people paying the city so the city can turn around and advertise their Fiesta as having "this many" events going on.

Based on we learned about their last "reveal" I expect their Ubisoft Forward to be more like an Ubisoft in Neutral Creepy Slowly Down A Slight Incline.

If you count Microsoft's "meh" Inside Xbox episode last thursday, it's already started.

It was annoying that Microsoft made Sands of Time back compat on the Xbox One, but ignored the other two games in the trilogy. I own all three OG Xbox discs, but was never able to get far into the third one due to a disc read error. All the Xbox One would need to disc for would be for verification, I could've finally beaten it all these years later. But noooooooooooo.

So in other words, the developers could've optimized their shit, they just didn't want to.

I don't know if any of you ever watched MXC back in the day, but if not, see if you can find it somewhere.

Looks like they might actually be putting the "fun" back into the Dirt series. Now that Dirt Rally exists for the purists, time to let this one lean more into the simcade side of the spectrum. DiRT 2 was a blast. EDIT: Downloading Dirt 4 from game pass to see if it's the one I one i didn't like. I get Dirt 4 and the first Dirt Rally confused.

Assassin's Creed was basically Prince of Persia for the first ten years of its existence. Now that it's moved on to a more open world RPG, it leaves room for PoP to actually make a comeback. Hopefully Ubisoft is open to making a mid-tier, linear action platformer with little wiggle room for monetization and virtually no replayability... ... ... ..

LOL I still have my 360 launch controller. The thumbsticks on them are so worn that they're not even round anymore, they have a weird, oblong, melted looking shape. I call it my Dali controller. I can't say it works flawlessly, but the damn thing is 15 years old and has been beaten to hell and back, and it's still totally useable. I keep it as a standby.
