General Gaming Does the Super Slim Have Bad Tastebuds?
XxEvil AshxX replied to JayTheToothlessNerd's topic in The Spawn Point
Bad hard drive? GTAV is significantly larger than those other games you've tried. Perhaps its a read/write issue. -
Yeah. Even though P.T. showed Capcom how to make RE7, they would almost have to follow RE7's template. RE7 didn't do "outside" very well though. Silent Hill would have to be a semi-open world, so they'd have to find a balance between slow/deliberately clunky movement and a faster style that could border on action-y. If they lean too much on one side or the other it could ruin the whole thing.

Honestly this is the kind of thing Microsoft should've done. If MS landed a the Kojima Silent Hills game as an exclusive, that would've been the mic drop they needed for Series X. It's great that MS has a bunch of studios working on things but they need one that makes non-Xbox gamers perk up their ears. Or whine and complain, as is common in the Sony camp when they "lose" an exclusive.

They don't say whether that's being displayed in 4k or not, and whether the X was pushing extra bells and whistles that the S won't. I say wait for a DF comparison. Or better yet, just download it from Game Pass tomorrow and find out.

Trials of Mana - Official Teaser Trailer
XxEvil AshxX replied to Commissar SFLUFAN's topic in The Spawn Point
If I can play through this game, beat it, and get a true ending without doing all sorts of convoluted hoop-jumping bullshit that I'll only discover if I look up a walkthrough online, I'm interested.- 25 replies

Gaming Accessories Just a few questions about this gamer bed
XxEvil AshxX replied to Jason's topic in The Spawn Point
I think I saw something like this on My 600 lb Life. -
The original FFVII combat system was as vanilla as it gets, but I think that's why people liked it. I liked the fact that anybody could be a magic user, that anybody could use any summon, etc. I know that makes each character interchangeable and not really unique, but that's what I liked. I hate being forced to use a character in a game that I dont' like just because they have a specific ability. I liked the fact that I didn't have to use Yuffie, Cait Sith, or Red if I didn't want to.

i played the demo earlier and the scorpion boss was a pain in the ass. Literally the only thing that would hurt it was Barrett's Thunder spell... which makes sense, but only being able to use it when his ATB was available meant I had to play as Barrett most of the time. Every time I switched over to Cloud to try to do some damage, Barrett's ATB gauge just wouldn't fill. Either that or he kept using skills that depleted it. I had to control him just to make sure he didn't waste his ATB bars so that I could actually get him to use the spell. I have to admit I didn't really like the combat much at all. It was serviceable when you're hacking and slashing through fodder, but I was curious how it would play out in a boss fight. The answer to that was really, really sloppy. I would've much preferred a very cinematic and stylish active turn-based battle system like KOTOR where they are just doing their basic attacks until I issue special commands. As it was in the demo, I just didn't feel like I was really doing anything. A couple of times I accidentally pressed the Triangle button in order to pull off a heavy attack. Then I was like, "oh, right, I'm not REALLY doing combos, i'm just mashing the square button." I can easily see myself waiting the year+ for the Xbox version, since it will likely contain whatever fixed combat system they scramble together after everyone complains about this one.

Nah. I can't stream for any significant amount of time or consistency so I've never really been too worried about it. I don't have any aspirations of being a streamer. I just do it for fun. That said, i used to get a couple of viewers here and there to chat with but since they changed up their front page i dont even get that.

I liked Mixer a lot more when it first started and everyone was on an equal footing. Then they started promoting their Mixer Partners and now good luck finding anyone other than who they want you to see. They took a golden opportunity to be the Anti-Twitch but then they fucked up by signing a bunch of high profile streamers. I still use it to stream (i dont know why) but i gave up hope of ever having a viewer long ago. People couldnt find me even if they wanted to, much less stumble across me organically. I basically just use it as a dvr.
