  1. It's such a weird thing to do in this day and age. The original Playstation Hits were great because we didn't have used game shops or online digital sales back then. Literalky the only way we'd get discounted prices at retail stores like Kmart, Target, Sears, Walmart, Toys R Us, etc. was if the MSRP changed. We just dont need that anymore when we have digital sales weekly and a used game market that dictate their own prices. Not to mention games have a much, much shorter shelf life than they used to.
  2. Sony could shit in a box and still sell millions in Japan. MS doesn't quite have that luxury.
  3. And holy crap what a kick in the gut. Somebody must have been cutting some onions behind me when i was wrapping that game up. Such an un-assuming game with a story i did not expect, even though i began to have my suspicions as the game went on. I played it through Game Pass and i'm so glad i did. It is the type of game i'd normally overlook if it came down to buying a game. For those who have playedthrough it, Eurogamer has an excellent feature where the creator of the game explains all of the symbolism and the meaning behind each area. Its a great read and worth your five minutes.
  4. It's an interesting question because most of my anticipated games got bumped to jan-feb '19.. but... Forza Horizon 4 Spiderman Dragon Quest XI I mean really, it's Resident Evil 2 Remake, but they had to be fuckers and throw it out in 2019. I'm weirdly indifferent on Red Dead Redemption 2. I think the only reason I played through the first one was that there just wasn't much else going on at the time.
  5. I played it for about two hours.. and man I'm torn. I really like the old-school RPG side of it. I do still think the graphics are a little too blurry, though. For someone whose eyesight isn't what it used to be I kept rubbing my eyes thinking it was me, but it wasn't. It was like someone smeared vaseline over the screen. That said, I just don't know if I can get into a game like this nowadays. I had a really hard time sitting through the hefty amount of dialogue at the beginning. I just don't know if I have the patience anymore. As far as the game itself goes it seems pretty solid, I didn't have any trouble figuring out what I was supposed to do or the fight mechanic, although it does bug me in rpg's when you have a character with the ability to "learn" monster techniques, yet every time you try, it never seems to learn anything. Throughout the entire demo I jumped that tiger creature thing onto every enemy I came across and never learned a single ability. I think what it really came down to was the screen sharpness. To be fair, I was playing on the Switch in the car on a trip, then on a shitty motel tv, so I wasn't on the most optimal setup. Maybe I'll try it again now that I'm home.
  6. As someone who spends most of his gaming time on his Xbox and listens to Xbox-centric podcasts like Unlocked and Major Nelson, I never got the impression they had any intention of moving forward with VR, and it definitely wasn't a selling point for the X for me. That being said, I've considered getting a PSVR for about 10 seconds. It's something I'd love to try out at a friend's house, but I just don't think I care enough to invest in it.
  7. What the retail stores do with their physical copies is their bidness. Digital stores gonna be MSRP until Bethesda states otherwise or it goes on sale. That said, it's been on sale a few times already.
  8. Congrats! I finally went on a road trip this past weekend and got to take full advantage of the Switch's portability. That's where it really shows its worth imo. Finally beat Bowser on Mario Odyssey and realized I didn't actually beat the game.
