By that I mean is there a difference if it was "allowed" to happen through either pressure applied by powerful interests ("We would look favorably upon Mr. Epstein being allowed to choose his fate") or if it was guards deciding on their own volition ("Fuck the pedo. Real life is not some political thriller, even though there are indeed some powerful people connected with him. He should have never been taken off suicide watch, and he should have been under 24 hour surveillance, and all prison personnel should have been mandated to keep this guy alive because of his importance in this huge case.
