It did work with my $10 coupon (everyone gets one if they sign up for the newsletter) once it actually released so yay. Also got an email that this is on geforce now which is great so I play on my phone in bed just messing around in the open world without bothering with my pc or anything. Decided to replay it on Xbox since I knew I was getting the second game on the Series X. Never played The Following DLC so I'll check that out for a bit before I start the second game. This is why 4pm the day prior to release for digital rules, now I can just dive in tomorrow. From messing around with it, I’m going with an alternate from what was suggested in the df video for a 3080: I set a custom res of 1800p and set that in game with dlss performance and left everything maxed, seems to hold 60+ and nothing feels compromised. I’ll just turn off ray traced shadows if it dips later. Also dlss is supposed to be patched tomorrow to be less blurry during movement. I also tried another alternate which was still maxed but 4k with dlss performance and locking the game to 40fps at 120hz. This actually worked really well too, I might try it again tomorrow and see how it looks with the improved dlss, but since 1800p/60 seems to work, there isn’t much point. What a fun game to mess around with tech wise, I know what I’m booting up first thing when the 4000 series comes out! BUT NO PHOTO MODE?! Cmon you put in all this effort and don’t give people an easy way to snap and share. Also controls are showing me keyboard prompts while I’m using a xbox pad, hope that gets patched. I really appreciate that the game just STARTS right away and gives you control, let’s you get in and just get stuff set up and check it out right away. Also dumb question but did the first game have it where you hold down the jump button to jump further? Because whoops didn’t know that if so lol.
