Well my friend, I hate to tell you you haven't experienced any level of difficulty in the game. The tutorial area is by far the easiest area in the whole game. Play a little further once you leave the initial dungeon area then see if it's the same experience

I have no opinion on the difficulty of Elden Ring, because I tried it out for 45 minutes.  Those 45 minutes weren't enough to demonstrate to me that I shouldn't buy AC.

I was largely fine with AC until Balteus.

I mean, I didn't claim to play Elden Ring (I tried it out and decided to wait until it reached the top of my backlog and/or they added Ultrawidescreen).  I said AC was my first experience with their games.

Yeah. I can.

You didn't find it difficult in 45 minutes so I was saying you need to play it more to get a better assessment. But be however snarky you want because you think I don't read or understand your post saying that verbatim. Good luck with wide-screen

Holy fuck the amount of bullshit I just had to read in this thread.

If you are the kind of person that wants to play a boss 20 times, go back and rerun levels to earn cash, then try 3-4 different builds to beat a boss.  And spend several hours to beat a boss.  Its certainly doable.  I personally don't play games to do that.

I wouldn't have a problem with what you're trying to claim until I saw the rest of your posts, and my god the amount of stubbornness from what you're claiming is really laughable.

I'm going to just address several points here.

You don't need to grind in this game at all. Money becomes a non-factor towards Chapters 2-3, and unless you're basically wasting all of your COAM aimlessly and ineffectively wasting your ammo (I'm looking at you gatling guns), you should have zero reasons to struggle.

I'm also going to say this as well. Fromsoft will never pull random bullshit just to spite the player with an "aha gotcha" moment. Every game that they've released has had subtle but deliberate intentions on game mechanics. I really hope for starts you've noticed Sulla's Pulse guns before Balteus and the Pilebunker in Chapter 2.

I didn't have much of a problem with Juggernaut.  He took me a few goes (maybe 5?).

It took me at least that many tries to get Balteus to the second stage.

I don't want to come off as a dick, or a negative Nancy.  But, Balteus is a significant difficulty spike from anything before.  IMHO, the mid-level boss that happens before you fight Balteus is probably harder than anything that comes before.

That said, you can exit the level and respec if you think your current build won't match up against a boss.

I'll just openly come admit that the part selections in chapters 1-3 were very sparse and did not give you the tools to go with your playstyle/approach.  Patch 1.05 supposedly rectified this by adding new parts that were not available during release, notably the Lammergrier parts, shoulder mounted gatlings, handheld pulse missile launchers, heavy machine guns, and a new mounted laser cannon.

However, my friend, you literally are having difficulty fighting Balteus post-nerf, which they made significant changes so players like you would stop getting filtered for not adapting and literally seeing how Balteus fights.  If you're going to aimlessly panic and dodge, you deserve to get hit by all the missiles.  The game isn't going to handhold you at all, and yet the game at that point already gives you the tools to win fights at your current progression.

The only caveat is that stat specialization is not clear/vague, and serves as one main barrier towards improving your AC.  One example notable I'm explaining is one of the boosters, because it says regular speed is high, but it punishes your QB speed and distance.  Fyi, this is why you should always get the full breakdown of your AC's stats, and it's one of the main appeals to WHY this game has a high appeal on optimizing your own AC.

You can play the game as a heavyweight bipedal/tetra/tank by just going all gatling guns and earshots, or you can play based on your style of preference and adapting from there.  I went from dual Plasma rifles and dual vertical missiles, to a monstrosity PVE build, to now my current lightweight builds that I'm using on PVP ranked matches.  This especially goes for flexibility towards other parts (me sticking with reverse joints to going lighter bipedal).   Point what I'm saying is that if you're not pushing yourself to experiment while shoehorning yourself into one build fits all, then you are not going to have a good time.

I think you're more skilled than you are giving your self credit for. I spent two hours on the tutorial boss fight. Stepee says it get much harder after that. I stand no chance but that doesn't mean I'm giving up on the game.

Welcome to the filter boss, where you get a souped up Abyss Demon that teaches you how to fight and engage with the enemy, which subconsciously teaches you the game mechanics via trial by fire. If you haven't learned how to utilize the stagger system, effective range of weapons (Turner fyi is a really bad weapon), positioning, movement, EN management, and knowing when to engage/punish and push yourself, then this game is not for you.

I will say, Iguazu made me change my play style a tad..momentarily. Then I re-readjusted based on his set up and found another compatible build. But that's the beauty of how the game subtly puts a solution right in front of you sometimes. Same with Elden Ring

Sans for the accidental spoilers... If you're fighting Igauzu with Volta... yeaaaah that mission was rough. Iguazu wasn't necessarily the issue; Volta just absolutely destroyed me >_>

I love the arena fights in this because I can really get my Virtua On on there, I hope there’s more than it looks like based on the menu. Also cuz it lets me level up more. Some important skillz to unlock in that section too.

You will get all the OS Tuning Chips in the Arena after subsequent playthroughs, on top of finding them in the missions.  They also unlock a couple of parts in the game as you go higher in the Arena during progression.

If you want PVPs, that's where the Nest comes in .
