Areajugones - Ronald Goncalves - Spanish - 10 / 10

Being the best soulslike ever created, Lies of P is an absolute masterpiece that excels in the totality of what is proposed. With a captivating and intelligent reinterpretation of the fable of Pinocchio, with magnificent and demanding combats where the design of the bosses and levels are splendid, with a sublime and oppressive atmosphere that falls in love with each step and with a monumental soundtrack that exponizes every sensation, no video game had ever captured the essence of FromSoftware with such feat and personality, thus becoming one of the best titles of 2023.

God is a Geek - Mick Fraser - 10 / 10

Lies of P is a staggering achievement for Neowiz, and one of the very best "non-FromSoft" Soulslikes I've ever played.

RPGamer - Pascal Tekaia - 5 / 5

I’m a little surprised to write these words, but I daresay that Lies of P is such a masterfully crafted hardcore gothic action RPG that it could even be said to outdo FromSoftware at its own game.

SomosXbox - Fabián Álvarez - Spanish - 9.6 / 10

In conclusion, Lies or P is a title that you can not miss if you love FromSoftware games. Here you can enjoy a new adventure in a fascinating and original environment. Taking Pinocchio and his story as the central theme results in a captivating experience that will make you feel like you're playing a "Souls" for the first time.

GamingTrend - Richard Allen - 95 / 100

Lies of P is a gorgeous, bloody, unforgiving game which builds off the well-tread souls template to create a wholly original adventure that never ceases being a joy to explore and experience. With top tier combat, fantastic enemy and boss designs, and intricate and often interweaving areas to explore, the game remains fresh despite the 30+ hours required for a first playthrough. I may be a sucker for these types of games, but Lies of P hit absolutely every note needed to draw me into its often grotesque yet surprisingly emotional world. Lies of P may be based on a well-known and over told fairy tale, but watching it unfold in a mature setting with a likable cast of characters and dire stakes made the story that much more enthralling.

XboxEra - Jesse Norris - 9.5 / 10

Lies of P is an incredible game, and the best Souls-like I have ever played that wasn’t made by From Software. It stands to toe-to-toe with Dark Souls III, one of my favorite games of all time. They have figured out exactly what makes this genre so damned good. Thrilling combat, top-notch level design, gorgeous scenery, incredible music and more make this one a no-brainer to try out Day One on Game Pass.

Digital Chumps - Steven McGehee - 9.1 / 10

For Neowiz’s first big AAA-caliber game, they have done a bang-up job with Lies of P. The story, characters, combat and RPG systems, controls, enemy design, level design — there’s a lot here that is done with excellence and the summation of these is a great game that I’d happily recommend to anyone that enjoys the tough-but-rewarding Soulslike genre.

8Bit/Digi - Stan Rezaee - 9 / 10

Lies of P is a Soulslike experience that uses one of the most iconic works of Italian literature as the foundation for its world.

Attack of the Fanboy - Christian Bognar - 4.5 / 5

Out of all the games that have attempted to master a Soulslike, Lies of P stands in a league of its own and should be experienced by anyone who is a fan of the subgenre.

BaziCenter - امید صدیق ایمانی - Persian - 9 / 10

Lies of P sets foot in a realm that many studios ventured into and failed, and even though it's still not at the level of the works by the great Miyazaki, it is one the best Soulslike games ever made.

CGMagazine - Jordan Biordi - 9 / 10

Lies of P exceeds its SoulsBorne inspirations and is easily one of the best games of the year.

COGconnected - Mark Steighner - 90 / 100

Calling Lies of P derivative is both obvious and misses the point. It’s is a love letter to FromSoftware, but one that quite often matches or even exceeds its inspiration. Lies of P doesn’t quite attain the elegance of Dark Souls, Elden Ring, or Bloodborne’s best level designs, but its art, graphics, and combat are possibly the best of any Soulslike not developed by Miyazaki and company. Lies of P is addictive, challenging, and rewarding, and a must-play for fans of action RPGs.

Checkpoint Gaming - Charlie Kelly - 9 / 10

More than just a meme game with a meme name, Lies of P is a thrilling Souls-like that delivers on its promises. On offer is a charming and over-the-top dark Pinocchio story, made all the more impactful by its blunt environmental storytelling. Genre fans also get to have their cake and eat it too, having functions from a lot of the titles in the crowd that work together in tandem to create a thrilling and delightfully challenging combat experience with memorable and grandiose environments and boss design. There are small mechanical additions such as breaking foes' weapons and a morality system explored through lying or telling the truth that are both valuable in distinguishing itself just that little bit more.  Topping it all off is a thorough journey with meaningful upgrades and a changing of world states to have you coming back for more. I cannot believe this silly little game actually pulls it all off, providing one of the better action games we've had this year. Lies of P isn't just a wannabe. It's a real game standing with giants.

ComicBook.com - Evan Valentine - 4.5 / 5

This feels like the spiritual successor to Bloodborne, and if you had sold this as a sequel to the FromSoftware story, you could get away with it. If you're a fan of Soulsborne and want to add a spice of rewarding difficulty to your gaming career, you must check out Lies of P.

Final Weapon - Alex Patterson - 4.5 / 5

While Lies of P may feel quite derivative of the games that inspired it, there's no denying that a lot of care and passion went into making Lies of P. This is likely one of the best Souls-likes out there, and I'm looking forward to what these developers do next. This is an easy recommendation to anyone who is a fan of the genre.

GGRecon - Ben Williams - 4.5 / 5

Lies of P is a brilliantly enchanting Soulslike for both those new and experienced with the genre - bringing together the gameplay of counterparts and its source material for a unique experience altogether. Albeit with some obtrusive difficulty spikes along the way, an extraordinary combination of its world, combat, and narrative will still make you want to see more when you've overcome its obstacles.

For a game based on a story that's been told what feels like an endless number of times, Lies of P feels one of a kind.

GameGrin - Artura Dawn - 9 / 10

Despite some frustrations and hiccups in my experience, I cherish Lies of P out the other side. The bosses were infuriating but fun, and if anything, it left me wanting - nay, itching - to click the NG+ button.

Gamefa - Mostafa Zahedi - Persian - 9 / 10

Lies of P is one of the best Soulslike games in recent years. from story and atmosphere to combat and enemy variety, Lies of P delivers an amazing hardcore experience. it's a great example that taking inspiration doesn't stop developers from using creativity to its fullest potential. if you're a fan of souls-like games, you'll have a blast playing Lies of P from start to finish.

GamingBolt - Shunal Doke - 9 / 10

Lies of P succeeds in almost everything it sets out to do. Not only do we get a wonderful new setting in the form of Krat to explore and dissect, but we also get some great gameplay to go along with it. While the story sets up some interesting things, it takes too long to get it rolling. The game ultimately relies too heavily on the gameplay to keep you intrigued. Not that we're complaining.

Gert Lush Gaming - Jim Smale - 9 / 10

Lies of P offers a creepy yet inviting sense of adventure with familiar controls, especially for those who have played any Dark Soul games but accessible enough that newcomers can get in on the fun. The game is a big achievement for the genre with its cast of characters, world-building, and memorable set pieces.

Niche Gamer - Jonathan White - 9 / 10

Players who aren’t into soulslike games will likely check this out on Gamepass and find themselves enamored with a whole new genre of games to explore. It’s tough but it’s rewarding and I’m happy to report that even with my middling feeling after playing the demo, Lies of P is one of the best games I’ve played all year.

Prima Games - Patrick Souza - 9 / 10

This is far from a perfect game, but it hits the mark when it comes to its strong points, and it just happens to have a lot of them. Whether you’re a longtime Souls fan or just curious about the crazy idea of a somber take on Pinocchio’s tale, there’s certainly something for you here.

The Game Crater - Chris Melnyk - 9 / 10

Lies of P doesn't merely serve as an outstanding RPG; it stands as a must-play for both newcomers and seasoned veterans alike.

The Games Machine - Marco Bortoluzzi - Italian - 9 / 10

Lies of P makes absolutely no secret of being inspired by From Software's games, but the end result is a videogame that feels great to play, offers many memorable boss fights, and provides interesting gameplay options in the form of being able to assemble your own weapon. Definitely a convincing effort from the Bless Unleashed developers, and a soulslike that fans of the genre should not skip.

The Outerhaven Productions - Keith Mitchell - 4.5 / 5

Lies of P started off as being a game that wasn’t even on my radar until a few months ago, and ever since I played the demo, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s easily one of the best Soulslike games I’ve played that didn’t come from FROMSOFTWARE, and that’s saying something. From the visuals, the sound direction, the gameplay, and just about everything else, Lies of P is a fantastic Soulslike, with few flaws. That aside, I do wish that the parry system had a longer window and that the bosses were as punishing as they are. But that aside, this is a must-play.

TheSixthAxis - Reuben Mount - 9 / 10

Smooth combat, seamless exploration and a set of well-executed mechanics makes Lies of P an excellent Soulslike. When you add in the gorgeous visuals, desolate world design, stark sound design and engrossing story, it raises the experience above a lot of its contemporaries. All in all, although Lies of P is essentially Bloodborne featuring Timothée Chalamet, it does more than enough to mark itself out as a unique title worth your time – and I'm not lying.

TheXboxHub - Paul Renshaw - 4.5 / 5

Lies of P is an extremely enjoyable game to play through. The feel of the world, the setting, and the combat all seem to have real impact; frankly, these elements are great. The camera and jumping are not quite so good, but in all, Lies of P is an absolute pleasure to take in.

WellPlayed - James Wood - 9 / 10

Lies of P melds its strange choice of source material with a sublime set of combat and customisation tools to craft a unique take on the Soulslike that stands shoulder to shoulder with its genre inspirations.

INVEN - Hongman Yoon - Korean - 8.9 / 10

Lies of P offers a sincere homage to its origins, remaining faithful to the genre's conventions while retaining its unique charm. With a blend of familiarity and innovation, it appears poised to delight Souls-like fans worldwide, further heightening our anticipation for what the future holds

Cerealkillerz - Nick Erlenhof - German - 8.8 / 10

Lies of P not only has an excellent atmosphere, great visuals and the coolest Pinocchio ever, but also enough peculiarities in terms of gameplay. It skillfully sets itself apart from its roots and is probably the best Souls-like game that doesn't come directly from From Software. Only the focus on blocking and some other mechanics really hold the game back.

RPG Fan - Noah Leiter - 88%

Lies of P is a gorgeous Souls-like that is true to its inspiration in many ways, but it also forgoes a few key features of its ancestors in service of some hit-and-miss new ideas.

Everyeye.it - Riccardo Cantù   - Italian - 8.7 / 10

GAMES.CH - Joel Kogler - German - 87%

Lies of P blends a dark and gritty reimagining of the classic Pinocchio tale with FromSoftware inspired Action-RPG gameplay. While it stumbles in some smaller ways, the result is one of the most polished and consistently enjoyable dye Souls-Likes I have played. The combat with its many special maneuvers and nuances can be overwhelming to newcomers, but the atmosphere, the variety in building weapons and the unique take on a familiar story more than make up for the shortcomings.

Fextralife - Fexelea - 8.6 / 10

Lies of P is a phenomenal reimagining of a classic tale that manages to engage the audience with its unique setting, while keeping them on the edge of their seat with its innovative twists to solid Souls-like combat. With minor shortcomings and perhaps an over-reliance on its inspiration, it is regardless an IP Souls fans won't want to miss out on, and is arguably one of the best Souls-likes titles to date.

Atomix - Alberto Desfassiaux - Spanish - 85 / 100

At first glance, Lies of P might appears to be another soulslike and another Bloodborne clone without personality, but when you being playing, you can see how great experience it is. A lot of new ideas and a very great wat to execute the FromSoftware formula.

But Why Tho? - Kate Sanchez - 8.5 / 10

While some elements of the puppet aesthetics aren’t necessarily original, and those who have played Bloodborne will see similarities, Lies of P is a gorgeously grim experience that offers difficulty and magic through immersive and dynamic gameplay with enough content baked in to make replayability a must.

Enternity.gr - Hektor Apostolopoulos - Greek - 8.5 / 10

Lies of P is a beautiful soulslike action RPG, with a rich upgrade system, plenty of customization and a scenario with depth beyond all expectations.

Hobby Consolas - Álvaro Alonso - Spanish - 85 / 100

Even though at times feels too derivative, we had a blast playing Lies of P. It's so well done and all the changes are so good (although minor), that we would be lying if we didn't recommend it.

PSX Brasil - Marco Aurélio Couto - Portuguese - 85 / 100

Lies of P combines elements of Soulsborne games, adds some ideas of its own and puts it all into a beautifully set version of a dark world, inspired by one of the best-known stories in classic literature. Some of its combat mechanics may take a little longer to get used to, but that doesn't take away from Lies of P's merits in being one of the best Soulslikes released recently.

Worth Playing - Cody Medellin - 8.5 / 10

Lies of P is a solid Souls-like title that benefits from being one of the first to emulate parts of the Bloodborne vibe and style that people have been clamoring for since that title was released. The time period and Belle Epoque style give the game a fresh identity of its own, and the title tones down some of the elements from the From Software hit, while still retaining the high level of difficulty that fans enjoy. The combat can be deep due to the weapon variety, and the secrets to be uncovered are numerous, which partially makes up for the lack of online functionality. As long as you don't try to look too much into the story, you'll find Lies of P to be an enjoyable experience all around.

IGN Italy - Alessandro Digioia - Italian - 8.4 / 10

Lies of P is one of the biggest surprises of 2023. Moody, gothic, bloody, and fast-paced, Neowiz first action RPG is a little gem, and even if it's not on par with FromSoftware best works, it's still one of the best soulslike games of the last few years. "Pinocchio meets Bloodborne" is a concept about as weird as it's compelling, and luckily Neowiz delivered with an interesting story, smooth combat and terrific musics. It's a little unpolished around the edges, and it lacks optional bosses and secret areas, but it's still a strong starting point for a new series.

GamePro - Samara Summer - German - 83 / 100

Successful, linear soulslike with a mysterious steampunk world, tactical fights and small flaws in the fine-tuning

Spaziogames - Domenico Musicò - Italian - 8.3 / 10

Lies of P could look like a mere clone of Bloodborne, but its combat system and how Pinocchio's influences intertwine with the story are crucial elements to make the game shine on its own.

Tom's Hardware Italia - Andrea Maiellano - Italian - 8.3 / 10

Lies Of P is the best copy of a FromSoftware-branded SoulsLike currently out there. Anyone in dire need of such a new title, after spending hundreds of hours on Elden Ring and consuming all the productions made by Miyazaki, should not ignore it.

AltChar - Asmir Kovacevic - 80 / 100

With all its strengths and a couple of notable weaknesses, Lies of P is a great game on our rating scale. It features such a dark, wonderfully crafted world that has plenty to offer to both souls like veterans and newcomers to this challenging genre.

Easy Allies - Brad Ellis - 8 / 10

Lies of P is a great game filled with satisfying and engaging combat, entertaining and challenging bosses, and strong atmosphere.

Eurogamer.pt - Bruno Galvão - Portuguese - 4 / 5

Lies of P is a game capable of winning over the biggest fans of masochistic action games, but it will require some patience. Its linear design combined with the relative lack of difficulty, only existing in a few boss fights, highlights the lack of pedigree of this Korean team, but it is a first effort with interesting points. In the second half, Lies of P gives a better air of gracefulness and ingenuity, which makes us excited about the future of this team.

Expansive - Brad Baker - 4 / 5

Lies of P is a fantastic Soulslike in its own right. It ventures to do things a bit differently with some of its choice mechanics and presents a surprisingly compelling story which really helps bring everything together. But it’s the combat, flow and performance that really seal this one as a solid entry in a popular, but often overcrowded genre. While not perfect and certainly a challenge that will not be for everyone, Lies of P is one of the best non-From Soulslikes you can pick up and play right now. And probably the closest you’ll get to playing Bloodborne on a format that’s not PlayStation.

Game Rant - Dalton Cooper - 4 / 5

Co-op support like in other Soulslike games would have put Lies of P over the top, but even without it, the game will still greatly appeal to Soulslike fans. It has a lot going for it, and from a technical standpoint, it's basically perfect. It runs smooth as butter, looks fantastic, and has no glitches that we discovered. And while the writing can be clunky at times, the ending is legitimately wild and worth suffering through the worst bosses to reach. It's true that Lies of P gives in to some of the worst Soulslike instincts at times, but it can be extremely fun when the combat clicks. Just expect a significant time investment and a lot of frustration before that happens.

GameMAG - Russian - 8 / 10

Lies of P suffers from a slow start with boring levels and uninspired enemies. Thankfully, later down the line game gives you much more interesting things to play with, including different weapons, unique gameplay systems and so on, turning itself into a pretty good addition to the genre.

GameSpot - Richard Wakeling - 8 / 10

For the most part, however, Lies of P is content to adorn existing mechanics and ideas with its own story and aesthetic. This may be a derivative approach, but it nails the core Souls-like experience, with each of its various mechanics seamlessly coalescing to create a thrilling action game that's challenging, varied, and dripping with atmosphere. It's easy to be reductive when a game wears its influences on its sleeve as boldly as Lies of P does, but plenty of other games have tried and failed to recreate the same magic. It's not an easy endeavor, and while it doesn't shake up the formula or reinvent the wheel, Lies of P is still one of the genre's most accomplished and enjoyable entries--and that's the truth.

Gamer Guides - Chris Moyse - 8 / 10

With polished gameplay, a splendid aesthetic, and a demonstrable commitment to quality, Lies of P evolves beyond its over-familiar designs to become a splendid new entry in the genre that mercy forgot. For players who believe staying down is never an option, this engaging new Soulslike will absolutely deliver the action, adventure, and challenge you seek.

Gamersky - Chinese - 8 / 10

In the Souls-like genre, Lies of P definitely stands out. It skilfully captures the unique essence of the Dark Souls series and expands on it with features such as the weapon modification system. However, the level design and boss fights play it fairly simple, and the lies that should have been a core element don't shine as brightly as expected.

GamesRadar+ - Jasmine Gould-Wilson - 4 / 5

Lies of P might not rewrite the book, but it does an excellent job of making its own additions to a well-worn script.

Hardcore Gamer - Kyle LeClair - 4 / 5

Lies of P is a worthy entry into the soulslike genre of gaming, particularly when the game allows its own unique elements to truly shine, such as its unique spread of weaponry and combat mechanics or its impressive story twists that can have you rediscovering what it means to be human.

Hey Poor Player - Kenny McKee - 4 / 5

Lies of P plays it a little too by the book in terms of gameplay and area design but is ultimately a very solid soulslike, not entirely bereft of uniqueness, granted you know where to look. While I would have liked certain mechanics, primarily those surrounding lying, to have been leaned into a little more, I can’t deny that Neowiz Games did an excellent job overall.

IGN - Travis Northup - 8 / 10

Lies of P might not branch out particularly far from its soulslike inspiration, but it plays the part extremely well.

IGN Spain - Mario Seijas - Spanish - 8 / 10

Lies of P is a gift for soulslike lovers. Outstanding visuals, an intricate and interesting story and a reactive and frenetic combat. If you like the genre, this game won't disappoint. Dive in, it's worth it.

PlayStation LifeStyle - Michael Leri - 8 / 10

Lies of P is wearing Bloodborne’s cloak, but it has its own heart, one encased in metal and powered by ingenuity. It sometimes transfixes on tropes of the genre to its detriment, yet still overcomes by the sheer quality of its boss fights, combat mechanics, and world design. Lies of P’s steel heart may not be born of blood and flesh, but it still pumps heartily enough to be a worthy substitute for the real deal.

PlayStation Universe - David Carcasole - 8 / 10

Lies Of P is one of the best Soulslike games to enter the genre, and on multiple occasions builds on the games that inspired it, adding refinements that result in a better gameplay experience. However it emulates its influences a little too closely, and fails to hit the same highs as the games that it has clearly used as a skeleton, inviting comparisons that aren't always flattering. Along with an incredibly disruptive difficulty spike, Lies Of P stands as a game that is very nearly great, and will scratch the right itch for fans of the genre to stick with it.

Press Start - James Mitchell - 8 / 10

Lies of P takes a bit to get going but once it does it's an absolute joy to play. While as challenging as you'd expect from a game channeling Bloodborne, its minor improvements help make the experience ever so slightly more accessible. More importantly, it manages to carve out its own niche and is one of the strongest adaptations of the formula that make games like Bloodborne so revered. And while some aspects of it's source material don't translate as well as you'd hope to a video game, Lies of P is a solid action game that's well worth your time.

Pure Xbox - Ford James - 8 / 10

This dystopian tale of Pinocchio does a lot to stand on its own two feet, but when you strip all the set dressing away, it is simply a terrific love letter to Bloodborne. It is rough around the edges with some balancing issues and environment clipping causing you to get stuck in corners too easily, but with enough persistence (and skill), Lies of P is one of the best non-FromSoftware soulslikes yet.

Push Square - Liam Croft - 8 / 10

Lies of P feels like the result of a developer having already taken multiple stabs at the Souls-like genre, so it's impressive that Round8 Studio has accomplished so much on its first attempt. By fully embracing its dark take on the Pinocchio story, it sets itself apart from anything else available. Elevating it above other games are quality combat and extensive, satisfying customisation, turning Lies of P into a first-class experience for FromSoftware fanatics.

Saudi Gamer - Arabic - 8 / 10

Lies of P has managed to provide the proper Souls-like experience, in a mysterious world full of danger, and a hard-but-fun gameplay with much variety.

It might not be the perfect Souls-like game, but it is indeed a great one.

Shacknews - TJ Denzer - 8 / 10

Lies of P was an interesting adventure. I really liked the blend of the classic tales of Pinocchio twisted into this strange and interesting world of puppets, rebellion, classism, and secrets. Being able to mix and match weapons and Legion Arms were delightful twists on my expectations of soulsborne combat mechanics. It's a shame the smaller enemies don't have more personality, and I also wish Pinocchio had more character to make playing him more enjoyable. That said, Lies of P is more than just a wooden facsimile of a soulsborne game. It gets the foundational stuff right and tweaks it just enough in combat and exploration to make things more interesting. For that much, it’s a tale worth exploring all the way to the end, wherever your lies may take you.

Sirus Gaming - Dave Acuna - 8 / 10

I genuinely had a fun time through the ups and downs of my experience, and I could say that Lies of P has the potential of becoming one of the names that would immediately be brought up when talking about soulslikes.

The Jimquisition - James Stephanie Sterling - 8 / 10

I love Lies of P until I don’t, but those less adoring moments are always followed by something that ropes me right back in. A slickly directed, beautifully presented game that takes the absurd concept of marrying Bloodborne to Pinocchio and commits so earnestly that it transcends the silly and just plain works. Difficulty spikes and dodgy pacing undermine it at key points, and some systems aren’t as useful as they should be, but none of that takes away from the high quality and the amount of imagination poured into what could’ve been just another Soulslike.

VideoGamer - Finlay Cattanach - 8 / 10

Lies of P is a masterclass in utilising passion and inspiration to create something distinct. While its execution isn’t perfect, the enthralling grimdark world of Krat and the overall excellent gameplay make for a fun experience many Souls-like fans are sure to enjoy.

Wccftech - Francesco De Meo - 8 / 10

Not even attempting to hide the massive influence Bloodborne has had on it, Lies of P is a solid imitation of the game developed by FromSoftware. While it lacks the same combat and world design finesse of its illustrious inspiration, the action role-playing game by NEOWIZ is among the most accomplished soulslike game released this year, thanks to its dark retelling of the story of Pinocchio, combat and character customization tweaks and great enemy design.

WhatIfGaming - Ali Hashmi - 8 / 10

Lies of P does enough to stand out in a sea of soulslike imitators, and its weapon assembly system adds a layer of customization that is a lot of fun to play around with. Its solid presentation, rewarding exploration, and twisted world-building make it an easy game to recommend if you can ignore some caveats tied to its parrying and lack of poise.

Video Chums - A.J. Maciejewski - 7.8 / 10

Lies of P is a very good Soulslike that doesn't quite reach greatness due to its lack of variety and needless limitations. That aside; what's here is still undeniably rewarding and entertaining so fans of the genre will enjoy what it has to offer.

Infinite Start - Grant E. Gaines - 7.5 / 10

Lies of P is an interesting game with some elements reminiscent of Soulslike titles. While it doesn't fully embrace the challenging yet rewarding approach that defines the source experiences, it also distinguishes itself by not attempting to be a mere clone. Notable differences can be found in its durability and weapon-swapping mechanics, as well as its more traditional narrative style. Consequently, players will likely have strong opinions about this unique approach. Although it isn't inherently flawed, there's room for improvement through thoughtful design changes.

PC Gamer - Lincoln Carpenter - 74 / 100

Lies of P is a competent Soulslike if you can shrug off its flaws.

Digital Trends - George Yang - 3.5 / 5

Lies of P makes it clear that developer Neowiz has a deep appreciation and understanding for FromSoftware;s games that goes beyond a surface-level copy.

Digitally Downloaded - Matt Sainsbury - 3.5 / 5

Lies Of P is a decent Soulslike, but it does squander the main opportunity that it had to differentiate itself. The “dark Pinocchio” theme is intriguing and the developers went about it with the right spirit, but struggled to convert it into something as thought-provoking and deep as it should have been. Take that out of the equation and you’ve got a Soulslike that’s a little heavy-handed in how it makes players engage with it, in a world that looks more inspired in screenshots than it is to actually journey through. Ultimately, as enjoyable as it is, Lies Of P stands testament to just how difficult FromSoftware’s formula really is.

Multiplayer First - Sean Mesler - 7 / 10

Ultimately, for a first attempt, Lies of P is a solid Soulslike that should keep fans of the genre happy and frustrated for the entire runtime. It’s clear Neowiz and Round8 have an affection for their inspiration even if they don’t quite have the skill to match.

PC Invasion - Sam Robins - 7 / 10

Quote nLies of P plays well enough with a world that's reasonably captivating but it struggles to find an identity for itself and follows in the footsteps of Dark Souls and Bloodborne without managing to step out from their shadow.ot yet available

PCGamesN - Lauren Bergin - 7 / 10

While at first glance Lies of P might seem like 'Bloodborne at home,' Round8 Studio's clockwork adventure writes its own unique story, filled to bursting with expansive Steampunk environments and defined by its well-balanced combat. In some cases, though, it gets a little too clever for its own good, tying itself up in opaque systems.

Siliconera - Kazuma Hashimoto - 7 / 10

Lies of P is an incredible demonstration of what can be done with a public domain IP and is a exercise in creativity.

TechRaptor - Joseph Allen - 7 / 10

Lies of P has excellent combat and a raft of well-designed boss fights, but bad storytelling permeates a sense that you've seen all of this before.

Cultured Vultures - Mike Worby - 6 / 10

Though this Souls-like wears its heart on its sleeve in its love for the genre, Lies of P misses the mark on what makes these kinds of games tick. All the same, hardcore denizens seeking a challenge may find something to appreciate here.

Eurogamer - Caelyn Ellis - 3 / 5

Lies of P has strong enough foundations in its edgy tone and tweaked weapons to provide an enjoyable experience for those in need of a FromSoft fix.

VG247 - Sherif Saed - 2 / 5

There’s some enjoyment to be found in Lies of P. Its action is competent, but lacks the polish and stir of its contemporaries. Its atmosphere can be engrossing, but it’s a hodgepodge of themes and aesthetics you’ve seen before that never rises above the familiar. I was never impressed by it, and I never stopped questioning the point of the entire endeavour throughout my time with it.

Chicas Gamers - Raúl Pinto - Spanish - Unscored

Lies of P is an A-RPG that takes us to the city of Krat with the help of P, a puppet superior to any other, who has to face all kinds of dangers in order to discover what petronecrosis is and why the frenzy of the machines has happened. An entertaining and challenging title with a very well-developed weapon system, although with a rough gameplay at the beginnig. Visually it is a beautiful game with an atmosphere that will not leave you indifferent and a few beautiful musical pieces.

Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - Recommended

Lies of P might not be Bloodborne 2, but it is an excellent and engaging experience inspired by some of the best games in the industry.

Gaming Age - Stan Yeung - A-

Despite the inevitable comparisons, Round8’s title stands on its own and can fill the void for those always beseeching a new entry of Bloodborne or at least a port to different platforms.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Ed Thorn - Unscored

An instant must-play for Soulslikers, with fantastic flexibility in its combat and old fashioned rigidity in its challenges.

Yes. Plus it plays very similar to a souls game so that is great. I just hope it isn't too difficult. Doesn't matter right now because I'm completely consumed in Starfield and won't touch this for a while.

Its going to be on GamePass so I will be able to download it, play it, rage quit, and delete it and it won't cost me $70

But it's modeled after Bloodborne.. Arguably one of the most difficult From Software games..

"The Chode," as I have come to call it, is a very strong Motivity(Str) weapon combination.

It is as strong as it is hilarious. The Big Pipe Wrench is an, about, 4-5 foot great weapon. You can remove all of its length by swapping out the pipe handle for the baton handle and gain a lot of attack speed. The only downside is its reach. I have since swapped it out for a boss weapon I created, but I may go back to it as it is still very strong. The Boss weapon just lets me be a pokey boy at a distance and I like that.
