Amazon's corporate PR would like you to know the warehouse workers most definitely do NOT pee in bottles.

After the union vote.

The accounts had computer-generated avatars, mocked workers' bathroom usage and called union supporters "not team players."

I took ten seconds to figure out why a billboard that appears to be pro-Amazon would be promoting the message "Dolts Without Dues".

Still a while to go, and the votes are counted randomly, but right now the "no" to unionization is winning by more than 2-1 with about ~2500 more to go

About 55 percent of the roughly 5,800 workers who were eligible to vote cast a ballot, the union representing the workers said.

To call it a fair ballot would be...a stretch.

I literally know nothing about it. What was the issue with the ballot?

There is the underlying threat that if they vote to unionize they will all be fired immediately and the facility will be closed. Walmart has done this with stores that unionize in Canada—everyone is immediately terminated and the store closes.

Not the ballot per se but the overall process.

USPS setting up a mailbox outside the plant at the behest of Amazon (presumably to intimidate workers voting), and then just the typical one sided anti union company propaganda without the pro unionization getting the same exposure to workers. Thinking about required all hands meetings where you were exposed to pro company/anti union stuff and the union doesn't get that sort of treatment. I'm not sure how legal this all is but to call it a fair fight under current law is not the case

Gotcha. Yeah, it will always be an uphill battle for unionization in these situations. What is most sad about it is there is a TON of business solidarity (including patently illegal collusion) that helps keep labor costs down and yet labor is scared to do the same.

Also can't forget latent american bootlicking and embedded anti union sentiment generally

And the mailbox being customized to fit the ballots.

Process "guides" are not mid-level. They are essentially entry level with different colored vests that also occasionally wear walkie-talkies. Looking to them for any sort of expertise is misguided. Any blue badge that has been employed longer than 2 months is already more knowledgeable than 90% of them.

A giveaway to the article writer should have been the wage. Even I know that Amazon starts at $15/hr
