From the very first trailer it appeared as thought the two main characters were going to annoy the hell out of me, and none of the reviews have convinced me otherwise.

I would actually say play the console version. They cut out a lot of the backtracking from the original PC one, and while there's the obvious graphical downgrade it still looks and plays fine. The Doom 3 BFG Edition is also back compat on the XBO.

That is sad to hear, but I can't help but wonder what their long term plans were. They literally had Hand of Fate, Hand of Fate 2, and a handful of small mobile games. The Hand of Fates were good games, but none of them were enough to keep an entire studio afloat for the duration of an entire development cycle. Maybe they were hoping for a publishing deal that didn't happen?

It's an interesting choice of words. A heart attack or kidney failure or something like that might have prompted a "natural causes" or as you said, an undiagnosed health issue. "Sudden illness" sounds like food poisoning or something. I don't even think flu or pneumonia works that fast, especially on a guy in his 30's.

MS had to know there was going to be a pretty low "low point" in the sales, between the lack of first party titles (that they've obviously been aware of) and the fact that the new console is coming out next year. Plus, for the first time ever, we know for sure that a future console is going to work with the current gen. People can literally "wait and see" what Anaconda is gonna be, without fear of missing out on any big first party games, cuz those acquisitions aren't coming out with anything big for a while still, and even if they did, they'd be playable on Anaconda. It's going to be a tough year and a half for Microsoft, but I have a feeling they're expecting it.

Hell, I can't get past the first level! I thought I just sucked at the game, but if the 10-year-olds are having a problem, then it's probably too difficult. They're usually better than me at games anyway.

I love how they're using video games to teach AI's how to anticipate our every strategy. Can't wait till the next Terminator movie when the creator of Skynet is like "Look! We taught it how to play Halo!"
