This is cool.

Reminds me of At the Drive In if they only played in one time signature. Not that that's a bad thing. I love music that takes 4/4 and just elevates it in complexity rather than just be like "I'm gonna switch time signatures before you even figured out what the last one was! checkmate."

Not necessarily my cup of tea musically but technically this is really interesting and cool to watch. Is that a 6-string bass or?

It's a guitar. I guess his style is "slap style" and he plays with his fingers. He's got his own signature fender guitar as well.

Unleash the Archers. A band that I wasn't really into pre-pandemic. I think being trapped inside for a long time made me more into power metal, which is something I've never really been into. Their album "Abyss" is great.

However, THIS SONG absolutely fucks.

I know they were supposed to go on tour with Dragon Force before the pandemic, I hope they still do. I would love to see them live.

Oh my gawd am I ever loving the new Rag’N Bone Man album right now. I take my dog for a daily walk in the afternoon since losing my job and stay at home orders in Ontario. So I go upstairs take a hit from my bong of a different strain everyday and see where the music takes me. Today’s strain I took down yesterday, freeze dried and smoked today was Amnesia Lemon Kush. She makes me happy and mellow and makes orange/yellow colours blare at your eyes. Found out about the new album last night, Amazon music download and off we went today. Holy shit it’s nothing but pretty much power ballads and fuck did it just put me in the happiest mellow zones with dog shit and all. Favourite right now is a duet he did with P!nk. She has another album she did with Canadian singer Dallas Green called You + Me I also recommend giving a listen too. Just performed it live at the Brit awards a few hours ago and god I love his voice

It was my number 1 of 2020. No contest. Every song on this album is a banger.

Been a while since I posted in here. Some vinyls I've purchased this year:

When the riff kicks in at almost 2:00 I cum. Heaviest fuckin' riff I've heard in a long time.

Djent that's not djeneric. The vocalist is great. Love the guitar riff in the verse. Overall very catchy.

I think this is Cannibal Corpse's best album in a long time. Easily in their top 3 or 4 IMO.

If Magma didn't do anything for you then you probably won't enjoy this album either. But I loved Magma. This is one of the softer songs on the album, but the subject matter is heavy as fuck. And the song is beautiful.

The last music Alexi Laiho recorded before his passing is better than the last few Bodom records IMO. It also has an absolutely killer cover of my favorite black metal song ever.

Chris Letchford is probably my favorite modern guitar player. I like his melodies and compositions quite a bit. I thought Scale the Summit's last album was a bit disappointing overall, but this new album is absolutely amazing. 8 songs recorded with 8 different guest vocalists as well as the instrumental versions on the second vinyl. I'd only heard of two of the vocalists before (Ross Jennings from Haken and Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox), but my favorite is the last track on the album with a guy named Eli Cutting. Just a beautiful track. I especially enjoy the middle section.

Fear Factory was one of the first heavy bands I got into in the late 90s so I'll always have a soft spot for them. Not their strongest outing but not their weakest either. Really there are only a couple of songs on this album that I think are duds. But the rest follow the tried and true FF formula of fast staccato syncopated rhythms, shouty verses and meloncholic choruses, and lyrics about robots and end times and all that sci-fi stuff I'm a sucker for. But, this is probably the last album they'll ever make.

Lantlôs - Wildhund

Lantlos has released their newest album in seven years. As you guys know I'm a sucker for book albums and they've released exactly that

As for the music, it's certainly hard to describe (obviously if you aren't lazy you can just listen to that song I posted) - It's kind of dreamy and shoegazish I suppose. My knee jerk impression is it sounds like a dreamy Mastodon or something. If you enjoy that first song you'll most likely enjoy the rest of the album. It's pretty cool I think.
