With a losing, but conservative bet on the Feature Game, Keyser_Soze manages to hang on to his top spot while several other players crept their way higher on the leaderboard.  We're past the half-way mark of the season: is the board stabilizing or is this the calm before the storm?

 

########## WEEK 8 RESULTS ##########

 

Week 8 Feature Game - Washington Redskins (+15.5) at Minnesota Vikings
The Redskins lost (again) badly (again) on the field, but won in the MGT by a score of 24.5 (9+15.5)-19. Bets on Washington win.

 

QUESTIONS
1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Redskins TD, Redskins FG, Redskins safety, Vikings TD, Vikings FG, Vikings safety, or other? ($1,000 for the correct call)
Dan Bailey hit a 50 yard field goal in the first quarter for the Vikings', and the game's, first score. Slug was the only player to call this one correctly.

 

2) Which team in the Feature Game will have the most rushing yards? ($900 for the correct call)
Minnesota put up 161 yards on the ground to Washington's 85.

 

3) North vs South: Which division will score the most points this weekend between the NFC North and NFC South? ($900 for the right division)
The NFC North combined for 97 points in Week 8 which was 10 more than the South could muster.

 

4) How many touchdowns will be scored in the Oakland @ Houston game? ($1,100 for the correct number)
Players reached the end-zone 6 times in this contest.

 

5) Call the winners:
Seattle at Atlanta
Philadelphia at Buffalo
Green Bay at Kansas City
($800 for EACH correct named game winner, $1,500 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
Apparently nobody had faith in Philly except for Alpha1Cowboy who not only was the only player to call the Eagles, but was the only player to nail all 3 games and earn the bonus!

 

6) Name the player that will have the most return yards in Week 8 (punt and kick-off). ($1,500 for the correct player)
Cordarrelle Patterson averaged 27.3 yards per return for a total of 109 return yards in a losing effort for the Bears in Week 8. Nobody called this one.

 

7) Name the player that will pass for the most yards in Week 8. ($1,500 for the right name)
Matt Schaub threw for 460 yards; almost a hundred yards more than the next closest QB. No players guessed Schaub.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week eight. ($2,500 for each player named correctly, $5,000 bonus if both names are called)
James Conner ran for 145 yards in Pittsburgh while Cooper Kupp pulled down 220 yards in passes in Week 8. Nobody called either player, no bonus awarded.

2) How many total turnovers will be seen in the Feature Game? ($1,200 for the correct call)

 

3) Tennessee @ Carolina - Over or Under 42.5 points? ($1,000 for the correct guess)

 

4) So you had a bad day: Which team will lose by the largest margin in Week 9? ($1,400 for the correct number)

 

5) Call the winners:
Houston at Jacksonville
Detroit at Oakland
Indianapolis at Pittsburgh
($1,000 for EACH correct named game winner, $1,800 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)

 

6) Through eight weeks we still have two winless teams (MIA and CIN).  Does that change in Week 9? ($1,000 for the right answer)

 

7) Holding the line: Which team gives up fewer sacks on Monday Night? ($1,000 for the right name)
