thewhyteboar
'The Passion Of The Christ' Sequel Reportedly Begins Filming This Spring WWW.SCREENGEEK.NET It's been reported that the sequel to The Passion of the Christ is currently scheduled to begin shooting this spring. Passion of the Christ sequel coming in. Caviezel is apparently a real QAnon lunatic, so I'm sure we will get lots of fun stories from the set. Mr.Vic20
This movie stirs powerful memories in me as when the first came out, my friends and I watched it as a drinking game and we drank every time they hit JC. I was violently ill that night! We dubbed it "The Trashin' of the Christ!" And woe unto any of you should you choose to follow in my foot steps.

I heard that on Person of Interest they had to start writing in excuses for his character to wear balaclavas during fight scenes so they could more easily swap him out with his stunt performer because Caviezel was making people nervous about always wanting to use real knives for fight scenes. Greatoneshere
I actually think Passion of the Christ is a moving, beautiful film. My wife, raised Muslim and in Pakistan, I explained his story (in liberal, progressive, awesome terms) ahead of the film and when we watched it the movie made her cry. It's a great movie, if, yes, of course, a bit torture porn-y but that's Gibson's Catholicism for you. I say this as a person who despises organized religion, raised Muslim, and among other things has a degree in religion. It's still a beautifully scored, shot, directed, and acted movie. Movie I use loosely. A sequel . . . makes sense, technically (Jesus rises from the dead guys, spoiler alert, it's even in the first movie), but would be weird? Mel Gibson sucks as a person but Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto are some of my favorite movies and Hacksaw Ridge was preachy but good (Gibson with a pacifist message lol). So, uh, yeah, I'm in, weirdly.

I was violently ill that night! We dubbed it "The Trashin' of the Christ!" And woe unto any of you should you choose to follow in my foot steps. I remember making up my 2 prints of the film and my GM radio me. I first had to drive to our local greyhound station to pick up the prints “Are you making up the Passion prints?” ”yeah I’m just working on them now” ”well don’t screw up. They’re only $5k a piece” Then we had to break up prayer circles in our theatre halls after the film. One group yelled complained that we were infringing on their religious beliefs. Only for my GM to tell them “No, but you are violating the fire code set by the city. So unless you want to help people see Jesus now, I would get up” He was trucker of mouth, but a firm good boss that didn’t take anyones shit. If they gave it to him, he’d return it tenfold. Oh, but the best was a man looking for his wife over a “family emergency” Turns out, she left her laptop open and found out she was having an affair with his best friend. Found them in Cinema #9, after searching our bigger cinema #12, and started to beat the crap out of his friend. Follow usher came running up yelling for managers and to stop the show. Movie was stopped, mangers ran in, cops called, and arrests were made. My fellow projectionist went to help, got clipped slightly in the jaw he said, as they held the guy down until police came. I shit you not, and it happened during the whipping scene too.

SoberChef
Looks like everything from the early 00's is coming back around as Ridley Scott, fresh off of finishing filming for his Napolean picture, is going to finally get around to directing the long gestating sequel to Gladiator. I would love to see Nick Cave's version of Gladiator 2: "The most talked-about draft of Gladiator 2 was the bizarre version written by Nick Cave. As far as proposed blockbuster sequels go, Cave's draft of the film makes Dan Aykroyd's infamous Ghostbusters 3 treatment look nuanced. The film would have followed Maximus through the afterlife and reincarnation — but this was only the beginning: After coming back, Maximus would help Christians form an army to take on Lucius, the son of his former lover and now a Christian-killing madman." What The Original Gladiator 2 Plan Was (& Why It Didn't Happen) SCREENRANT.COM What was the scrapped plan for Gladiator 2? I also would kill to see Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon movie that was never made.

The Judas Iscariot scene and the depiction of Satan alone still sticks with me today. I viewed Passion more like watching The Exorcist so I thought it was a great Horror movie. Also I wish it were titled Jesus Christ XXL.

I should know more about this since I was born Catholic and went to a Catholic school for 8 years. I even read a lot of the Bible but all of it is extremely difficult to read. My faith is gone now.
