The Munsters | A Film Written and Directed by Rob Zombie | Coming 2022

This led me to imdb which led me to find out that Rob Zombie’s wife renamed her last name to Zombie. Which was funny to me because like I never thought of it as some guy named Rob whose last name was just Zombie. idk, I mean yeah it is that, but you know what I mean.

Cummings is also a solid last name.

I feel like Rob Zombie thinks he is a lot more clever than he actually is. It's almost like he wants to be Tarantino, but with horror movies and he just doesn't have the chops for it. The horror pornographer in me enjoys House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects, but what does shit like 'I'm the one that brings the Christmas candy' even mean? I liked his first Halloween movie, but all I can remember is 'Nights in White Satin' playing throughout the entire second one.

I'm curious to see how he handles comedy, but this teaser just looked silly to me, but I never really watched The Munsters.

It looks cheap and bad. The black and white teaser I think worked better than this trailer. I know the original show was not the most amazing looking show but the colours here are just way too bright. I think it might work better for me in B&W, but this trailer took me from interested to keep it away. My mom was a fan of the original series and she was turned off by this trailer.

As someone with no interest in this movie or The Munsters I could go either way on this. Seems like they're doing a sort of "What We Do in the Shadows" take on the show. I wouldn't exactly go out of my way to see it but I'm not repulsed like some people ITT. I think the biggest turn off for me is the muddy audio, sounds almost like on camera audio or something. Hopefully the mix is better than that in the final movie

@Keyser_SozeI respect & love you but please, DO NOT besmirch the good name of What We Do in the Shadows with what seems to be about 25 years too late of a "film" take on a show from the early 60's that absolutely should have rode the coattails of The Addams Family films & been directed by a far more talented individual.

I enjoyed White Zombie, still do even, and even some of Rob's solo work is solid on a music level. That said, aside from The Devil's Rejects and to a slightly lesser extent, House of 1000 Corpses, his filmography is not good at all really in my honest opinion. I mean sure, at least  he tries, yet it also does seem to come through that monetarily speaking, he doesn't have a lot of assets with which to craft his films anymore simply because so many have been more or less DOA when released.

Rob Zombie himself confirmed THE MUNSTERS news on IG, telling fans that they can head back to Mockingbird Lane this coming September.

I thought that trailer looked realllllllll bad. One or two quick scenes Herman reminded me of Jim Carrey playing The Mask.

My favorite part actually was it’s use or color. The characters are decent and fun to watch, and there is a date scene that I found rather funny, but it didn’t really work as a movie. It felt like it would have worked better if they did just make a new tv show reboot and let the actors breathe more. As a movie it just doesn’t really hold interest well.
