Could be a bunch of radioactive Staten Islanders who've moved to NJ, there's a ton of landfills on Staten Island (it's a good deal of what the garbage smell on the Turnpike in fact).

Apparently the year the school was built there was a bunch of soil moved out from a nuclear testing site nearby...one theory is that it was used in the foundation/construction of the grounds.

Wouldn’t the radiation still be easy to detect?

So THAT’S where they will find Jimmy Hoffa’s body. Under layers of radioactive soil that wasn’t to be disturbed. . . .unless that revived his corpses and now haunts the nearby woods as the Jersey Devil now.

I'm not saying I'd actively investigate Jersey Hoffa Devil sightings but I am in NJ.

We've had reports of cancer clusters around here too.

 

This one in particular didn't find anything though testing
