  1. I was a pretty big fan when they first started. Listened to the podcast every week, watched a good percent of their videos, was a paid member for a year or two. But I think it was around the time that they split into two coasts that I started to lose interest. I don’t know if that was the cause, or if it was a coincidence. I don’t really “follow” any gaming site any more. This place is enough.
  2. I forgot the larger context of the song, but that last line plays in my head every time I see Chex Mix.
  3. I recently started watching Kim’s Convenience, and there’s a line early in this movie that I’m guessing is targeted at people who know Simu Liu from that show.
  4. Well, these are all places I have a hard time imagining Wade relaxing with a nice frozen confection, so I guess it’s not surprising that he’s never heard of them.
  5. Or a theme park. I feel like those are the only places I've ever seen them.
  6. The ice cream of the future!
  7. Frozen bag of peas. Gotta have one of those on hand when dealing with your minor injuries.
  8. I never even tried the motion controls. Using the pro controller is fine. The camera is unfortunate, but honestly it hasn't been an issue after the first couple hours (my latest save says 14 hours). I have minor gripes, but overall I'm enjoying it a lot. I wouldn't say I'm soldiering through it or anything like that.
  9. Still steadily making my way through Skyward Sword. It’s funny to use some of these items and think “yeah, this definitely wasn’t designed to be used with a regular controller” but then realize that flailing around with a Wiimote wouldn’t make it better.
  10. I think people generally agree that the first season is mostly weak, but after that, it’s gold.
  11. Wild to think it's been 6 years since Spectre. I feel like doing a rewatch of the Craig era over the next month leading up to this.
  12. I thought I was done with COD:Warzone, but I keep getting sucked back in. >.< Skyward Sword - I've made it through the third dungeon, and after a classic bit of "backtrack and do a bunch of random shit" I've made it to a new area (yay) that looks like it'll involve a lot of swimming (boo) EDIT: damn, Skyward Sword, really? At least is was fast.
  13. Bialik is no good too, apparently. Can't have Ken Jennings, he was closely affiliated with Bean Dad. Eventually, all humans on the planet will be deemed ineligible, and they'll just wheel out IBM's Watson to do the job.
  14. I'm now hooked on Kim's Convenience. A classic family/workplace sitcom setup, with a Korean-Canadian perspective. Funny, sweet, just a nice hang. Ended up watching most of the first season today.
  15. I resubbed to AMC A-List since now that my work schedule has changed, I’m able to see more stuff. In the last week, I’ve watched: Stillwater- if your daughter is in a French prison for 5 years, wouldn’t you try to learn at least a couple words of French? I didn’t really enjoy this movie at all. If Matt Damon is stirring up shit in Europe, it should be as Jason Bourne, or that other talented guy. The Protege- kinda fun, mostly forgettable. I know he’s the bigger star, but it’s pretty rude to Maggie Q that Michael Keaton gets top billing. It’s her movie. The Night House - I went into this with only a vague memory of seeing half a trailer. Rebecca Hall rules. I don’t know if I would call it all that scary, but it has an unnerving tone that is effective throughout. Really enjoyed it.
  16. This was like my one complaint about the entire game. I don't remember there ever being an option to fix that.
  17. They've been trapped in a DeathLoop for years now.
  18. Hmm, I do enjoy the world of Alien, and a decent shooter in that world sounds fun, but a lot of those blurs stress the importance of co-op with your friends, and that's something I just never end up doing.
  19. Yeah, it’s some top tier world-building. I never really mess with stuff like this, but I bought the book they put out after the first game, “The Dunwall Archives” just because I liked the whole vibe of the world. Now it looks like I might have made an accidental investment, because copies are going for around $150 on eBay.
  20. I binged the first season shortly after it was all out and loved it. I recommended it to my sister and her husband, who both loved it and started telling all of their friends about it. We all ended up getting somewhat obsessed, watching episodes over and over. One of their friends even hosted us at a viewing party for the season 2 premier (perhaps not realizing that there was going to be only one episode a week).
  21. That's the tricky thing for me. I think that I want that simplicity, but after like 10 minutes of mindlessly skating through corridors, blasting everything that moves with a double barrel shotgun, I start to feel hollow inside, and not in a good zen way.
  22. I played a couple levels on Xbox. I think I like the idea of these old school FPS games more than I actually enjoy playing them.
  23. I can’t grow a decent beard to save my life, so I usually stay baby-faced, stubborn acne and all.
