  1. That's good to have a backup to generate electricity, but you'd still be out of luck if the unit itself goes bad, of course. No thank you, Phoenix.
  2. I'd be curious to get more info on this, such as e.g. price, if the screen is an OLED, are the controller grips detachable, can you play on this while someone else uses the console, battery life, etc. but at least in principle it seems pretty cool. Being able to game in bed while your partner sleeps or using it in the bathroom seems useful if the price is right!
  3. @stepee if you do get the Rokid Max, I'll be very curious to hear your thoughts on a comparison between them and the Nreal glasses.
  4. If they don't act any differently while drunk or high I wouldn't care, but that seems to rarely be the case in my experience. On occasion, in my personal life outside of work I've sometimes found it irritating to be around people who are drunk or high when I'm not, so I imagine in a work setting where e.g. safety, efficiency, correctness, etc. are key it would be especially annoying having to deal with someone not in their right mind, as they're making my job harder too.
  5. @Rev how long ago did you order the Rokid Max glasses? Just wondering how long I have to wait before they ship. Their website says "Shipping in 2-3 weeks" but just curious if their estimates line up with your experience. I'm excited!
  6. I would also like to extend a hearty FUCK YOU to @stepee and @Rev, as I have now also ordered the Rokid Max.
  7. This sounds so freaking cool, you're really tempting me... Playing the Deck e.g. on an airplane with these sounds amazing. Did you try these out somewhere before buying or did you pretty much blind buy them?
  8. I'm guessing your motherboard doesn't have a POST code reader screen (i.e. a "7-segment display"), right? Sometimes this can give a clue as to where it's hanging but not all motherboards have them and it depends where the system is hanging whether or not it will provide any useful info. I agree with Spork that it's starting to sound like a bad CPU, motherboard, or memory. As a first step there, you could also try just reseating the memory and CPU. Do you have another system that's compatible with any of these components (e.g. GPU, memory, CPU, etc.)? If so, I'd recommend taking them out of the problem system and trying them one by one in a known-good system to see if they work there. Or, try the reverse and replace individual components in the problem system with known-good components to see if the system suddenly works. You're basically just trying to isolate variables here.
  9. That's a weird one. A couple ideas: Did the input source selector on the monitor get switched and auto switching is disabled? E.g. your computer is hooked up to HDMI but the monitor is looking for Displayport. Can you get a signal on the same monitor with a different device? You said you checked the cables; how did you check them? Does the system respond to a ping on the network?
  10. Great news and perfect timing: I finally just played The Stick of Truth on the Steam Deck a few weeks ago and will be starting Fractured But Whole soon. Good ridiculous fun games.
  11. Not that you asked for opinions, but... I think they can be fun, but I think they should clearly be labeled "AI-Generated" or similar. Agreed about this video not really fitting the spirit of this board though.
  12. My parents are already in good shape, so I'd probably leave it to my sisters. If not them, my best friend and his wife (known them for 20 years) would also be good stewards of that much money.
  13. If Rammstein did "Every Breath you Take".
  14. My apartment has air-conditioning. checkmate, earthcucks. But in all seriousness, it is 90 degrees right now, whereas two weeks ago it was in the 40s and 50s and we hadn't seen the sun in six months.
