I always justified my love of Johnny Cash and maintained my blanket hatred of country by calling Cash rockabilly. Mostly kidding, but... I did also grow up listening to Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, etc. because of my parents, so.... Yeah I'll begrudgingly admit it's not all bad.

Cool, I hope you'll find some value in it like I have over the last few months. It does cost money (about $100 per year, IIRC) after a 30 day trial, I think it is, but I do think it beats the hell out of e.g. just having Excel spreadsheets or something. If nothing else, it's better because it can (but doesn't have to) import your credit/debit card transactions automatically, can assign them to categories automatically, etc. There's a bit of work involved on the front end in setting up your budget and goals, but it really helps you track your spending and plan for the future.

Do you use any budgeting software? I recently was introduced to YNAB, or "You Need A Budget", which is a web app for budgeting that lets you track your spending, create spending goals by category, etc. The reason I ask is just because of the comment about "net worth", as that's a metric that YNAB constantly tracks and makes available to you in a report any time you want to see it. Which maybe isn't something you want to be aware of but once per year, I dunno. I've found YNAB to be pretty great, in general.

I think it's a city-by-city thing, but in a lot of cities you are legally responsible for the area outside of what is officially your property, e.g. the sidewalk, strip of grass between your sidewalk and the street, etc. Which I've heard a lot of homeowners complain about, especially when it comes to things like sidewalk repairs, which get expensive (particularly if your property has "historic" sidewalks , which apparently is a thing). Anyway, all to say maybe they were cleaning off the sidewalk for this reason.

Maybe you've checked this already, but have you tried 1) ensuring that you're downloading from the closest server and 2) changing the download server (even if it's to one which is further away) to see if it makes a difference? Maybe your local server is getting hammered. This can be adjusted in Steam->Settings->Downloads->Download Region.
