  1. I beat Hotline Miami on the Deck today. It was technically great (no lag, very smooth, etc.) but I had way too many frustrating moments aiming with the sticks to want to play Hotline Miami 2 on the Deck. PC or bust. I think I'll finally give Pentiment a try next.
  2. Tibetans Say the Dalai Lama’s ‘Suck My Tongue’ Viral Video Is Being Misinterpreted WWW.VICE.COM Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader has often courted controversy for his off-the-cuff jokes that his supporters say are “lost in translation.”
  3. Oh no, I'm drowning. Help me! </PCCB>
  4. This would have been my guess (and hope ) at first too, and if they had said this I'd have believed it. But instead they went with "he likes to tease people" so.... Fuck 'em, I guess.
  5. I've had seasonal jobs as a teenager (e.g. summer camp counselor) that I loved, and of course they just ended with the season. But as far as career jobs, I'm still too early in my career to have left a job I truly loved; I'm currently just in the second job since finishing school. The first job, which I did for two years, I liked the work itself ok but I was paid poverty wages.
  6. It sounds like what I did doesn't qualify as what you're defining as revenge, but... I had a roommate in Germany who kept stealing my food and denying that she was doing it. Near-daily, for months. One day I bought a bottle of Diet Coke, unscrewed the cap and put a Mentos (tied to a string) in the cap. When she opened it, it sprayed everywhere and she spent an hour cleaning it up and stopped stealing my food.
  7. I still remember how fucked up it seemed to me at the time that part of my onboarding training at my current job was how to respond to an active shooter in the workplace. I mean, yes, being prepared is better than not, but.... damn this country for making it necessary.
  8. I'm reading The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K. Dick (of The Man in the High Castle and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep fame) for a book club. It's holding my interest, but it's definitely grating how sexist some of the language is. A product of the time, I guess.
  9. I was lazy and had a frozen veggie pizza for Easter.
  10. That's fine. I'm just pointing out that the thread title doesn't imply this.
  11. I saw a meme on Facebook yesterday that made me think of this thread. It basically said: If the workers manning the stores in your walkable neighborhood have to drive 30 minutes to get to work, you're not living in a walkable neighborhood, but rather a theme park.
  12. I like how this is the "community" thread and it's nothing but PC people talking shop for 16 pages.
  13. I'm glad that Valve made it so easy for you to return. That's actually pretty awesome; it's a little more risky of a purchase than a Switch, for example, given the imperfect stability of the platform for some games. Hopefully that flexibility will encourage anyone else on the fence to give the platform a try.
  14. Same to you, @best3444!
  15. Ugh, yeah that's way worse than waving your pecker around. Gym locker room floors are... Oof...
  16. Yeah, it's also tricky because I'm sure that a lot of really absurd and unbelievable things happen every day. It's the law of truly large numbers, right? Given enough time and a large enough sample size, even very unlikely things happen.
  17. Sounds like it could be a blood pressure issue, in my unprofessional opinion. I'd strongly recommend seeing your primary care physician ASAP. You can pass out and hit your head or pass out while driving, for example, and both would not be great. Quick story: My dad had some blood pressure issues many years ago because of some medication he was on (they gave him the incorrect dosage). If he coughed too hard, he would pass out (drop in blood pressure). At one point before the incorrect dosage was discovered, he got food poisoning and every time he was throwing up, his blood pressure again dropped and he passed out. One time while throwing up, he (fortunately very lightly) hit his head on the toilet when he was passing out. That was the final straw and he went by ambulance to the hospital, where they discovered the dosage issue.
  18. None that I know of. I tend to lean a lot on Occam's Razor and its corollary, Hitchen's Razor, and generally have an allergic reaction to people claiming special knowledge. Someone claiming something extraordinary needs to have extraordinary evidence, IMO, and that is pretty much never the case with conspiracy theories, in my experience.
