Sometimes I wonder if upsetting people is just the easiest way chuds can find to feel relevant in a world that keeps moving on. As the great George Carlin said: Imagine how stupid the average person is and then realize that half of all people are dumber than that. At the risk of sounding condescending or patronizing to the chuds (and probably rambling a bit): In my calmer, more rational moments I have to remind myself that most people are just doing the best they can and that if I wasn't lucky to have had the luck, background, experiences, education, etc. that I did, maybe I would be a chud too. But yeah, it gets really goddamn frustrating sometimes.

It's not new information, but it sure is disheartening to have yet another example of the two-tiered justice system: one for you and me, and one for the ultra rich. If you or I attempted these shenanigans, our assets would be seized so fast, we'd be slapped with a contempt of court charge, etc. But this garbage person gets special treatment..

That is indeed a shitty day. I hope things have gotten better for you!

Feel better, dude! Hopefully you're already well on the way towards recovery.

Is that $54k your only savings and the $750/month your only income for the foreseeable future?

I see, I'm tired as shit and misread your post, apologies. In my understanding, normally car extended warranties are a way for the dealerships to just make easy money. Especially when the standard warranty on Kias, Hyundais, etc. is so good (up to 10 years on some parts) and vehicle reliability is generally good these days it hardly is necessary, plus there are often all kinds of limitations on the warranty and they can cost thousands of dollars more. Unless a sudden incident costing $1000+ is going to severely mess you up financially to where a warranty would be nice, you're probably better off just foregoing the extended warranty. But I'm certainly no expert, and your situation might be different, of course.

Is that what he said, or did he say that the specific car model matters more than a generalization about the brand? For what it's worth, the Koreans (Kia, Hyundai, Genesis, etc) all pack their cars with tech features which are really nice and they have some of the best warranties in the industry too.

Who do you thinks dislikes me the most on D1P?

A bigger question: Edit - To be clear, that was directed at you, @Biggie, not @CayceG, though it's said in jest either way. -
Are you going to gamble at all while you're there? I feel like you have to at least donate $20.

I've unfortunately never been to Maine, but just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear that work is taking such a toll. But I'm very glad to hear that you're able to do something about it. Best of luck to you, and godspeed on the new project!

I guess you're trying to say that gaming is getting too expensive?

Oof, please don't get a 4Runner unless you REALLY need one. How much are you budgeting for gas, @best3444? 4Runners get 16 MPG city and 19 highway, which is pretty bad, especially vs. a RAV4's 27 city and 35 highway, which is itself bad vs. a Camry (51 city, 53 highway).

FWIW, I like the looks of it too, but the charging is pretty bad if you ever plan on road tripping with it. 10-80% in 43 minutes is significantly worse than cars from Hyundai, Kia, etc. that will do that in 18 minutes, and I suspect these numbers will continue to drop on other cars. Not a big deal if you're going to be charging it mostly at home though.
