Just finished episode 4. I actually kind of like the vague timeline setup. I have a feeling this will be one of those shows where you'll catch things you didn't the first time through. I'm enjoying watching the short stories play out.

I only watched the first episode last night, but I loved that it started out at the beginning of the first book (even though iirc the Nilfgaard invasion didn't happen till book three). Stregebor's tower and Renfrie were fun to see come to life. And of course, if you've only played the games.. I can see Season Two being really good, since the groundwork for the world and its characters will have been laid. I would love to see an intimate over-arching story like the Blood and Wine expansion, or even Hearts of Stone, that doesn't necessarily have to do with the prophecies and the fate of the world, etc. Oh and maybe introduce Letho to shake up the politics a bit

True, but it was later in the game and as I was trying to remember what was the parry button and dodge I was getting my ass kicked. I'll play under a different profile for five minutes then go back to it. I just don't want to risk her dying while I'm fumbling around trying to remember everything.

No, the raids are new. There is only one so far, with another planned. I haven't played it yet because four players are required and even if I got my buddies together (which is practically impossible) there would still be only three of us. I'm too old and cranky to put up with randoms.

I signed back up for it, but honestly, I just need to cancel it again. I already own most of the exclusives I'm interested in, like Uncharted, Horizon ZD and God of War, and there's a big overlap with Game Pass on the ones I don't. The games left over are quirky Japanese or indie games that don't appeal to me, or streaming PS3 games like the old Ratchet and Clanks that I struggle to stay interested in. Not saying there's anything wrong with the service, but right now I just can't find enough there to justify it.

I bought the special edition on XBO and I never got past farting around with the mods. I've never even touched the expansions, except for the one where you build your house (which took an hour thanks to said mods).

Yeah, i had to. The past two ES games have some kind of world state that is determined by where you are in the story. Oblivion had the gates, Skyrim had the dragons. There was the point where dragons would randomly attack every five minutes or so and it got annoying so i did the main quest to get past that world state. Plus you usually get some in-game clout whenever you beat the main story.

Yeah they said they still had to emulate it but since they knew they were going to do it ahead of time, they took it into account when designing the system. So it didn't take as much trickery as with the 360/OG emulation on XBO.

Honestly, as much as i loved FFVII back in the day, the timeline in the story was all over the place. If they need to move some events around so they make more sense i'm ok with that.

Meh. The $8 i spent on it was enough.

I just picked it back up and finished the trials to get the sword. Then i realized i forgot what the combat mechanics were so i quit out before i died.

There's no way this is not coming to PC. It should be a day one Game Pass title and a huge push for PC gamers to sign up for it.
