  1. Hey peeps, I posted a question on the PC tech board but it looks pretty dead over there so I'm putting a note on here... Any help would be appreciated.
  2. My wife has an Asus Cyberpower PC that she uses for work. Since she also has a Mac laptop she uses, I had her set up on a kvm switch. She was complaining about clutter and asked to move the PC under the desk, which I helped her do. I tested everything and everything worked fine. Fast-forward 2 days and she has nothing outputting from her PC. I brought it upstairs, hooked it directly to a good monitor, and am getting nothing. Tried HDMI and the DV port. Nothing. I don't even get a boot up or bios screen. Monitor stays in standby. I re-seated the ram, checked cables, removed battery backup, etc. Everything seems to be good. I even removed the GPU to see if I could get a signal from the on-board output. Nothing. I get no sounds, and since it's an SSD I can't even hear if the hard drive is being accessed. Just the fans running and the LED's changing colors. Clicking mouse and tapping keyboard doesn't seem to do anything. Overheating is a possibility, but she wasn't using the PC at all this week (she tells me it was off, but eeeehhh), even still under the desk is pretty well ventilated and the PC is still fairly new and dust-free. I was a PC tech once upon a time but it's been a while. My instincts are telling me the motherboard is fried but a Google search tells me this isn't exactly uncommon with these pcs. I'm really hoping I don't have to deal with Asus tech support. The thing that's bugging me the most is that I don't even get a BIOS screen. Does anyone have any ideas?
  3. "Free license access?" What does that mean? It can't mean that any service provider would have access to host the game without paying for it?
  4. That sounds like a two-testicle contribution, and I'm not sure I'm ready to go there. Yet.
  5. Ah ok. These damn things are gonna require a spreadsheet before long.
  6. But this is just a streaming handheld, isn't it? Not a full blown console like the Steam Deck?
  7. Every video of this game just makes it look like a chore. Not really diggin the whole "here's a bunch of crap laying around, figure it out yourself" mechanic. It's not really why I played Zelda. I can see how the whole "physics playground" would appeal to a lot of people, though. I'm just not one of them.
  8. I would give my left testicle for a remake of the entire Rogue Squadron Trilogy in one game. Like not a repackage, but all the missions wrapped in a single, long ass campaign.
  9. So this whole Epic Games Store thing... What is it. I've only recently started PC gaming but most of my purchases are through GOG and Steam. Is it just a store/launcher or is there a sub?
  10. I played Redfall for several hours with a buddy tonight and I didn't see anything wrong with it, aside from your usual dumb A.I. and the fact that it was kinda easy. We actually enjoyed what we played. The 30 fps was a bummer for sure, but after a while I forgot I was supposed to be bothered by it. We'll see how it holds up in the long run but so far it's not as bad as what I've been hearing about on the youtubes.
  11. I used to love the aesthetic and the lore of Shadowman. I hated the controls and the level design. To get a legit, modern Shadowman would be awesome. I'll be keeping my eye on this one. Oh, and get Candyman to voice him again.
  12. I used to love The Sims before they pulled out the ability to create your own content and decided to sell it to you in tiny overpriced packages instead. The Sims 2 was wonderful.
  13. Wait, Art is not medicine? I've been eating Crayons my whole life for nothing?
  14. I don't know what any of this is, but it looks neato. Did they make it to where Lost Ark will just update instead of waiting for me to click the button? That seems like it would be cool.
  15. Sloppy Seconds if you have a game pass sub.
  16. That's actually a legit question, because the fact that the PS2 doubled as a DVD player was a BIG deal back in the day. I knew a lot of friends that bought it to use as a movie player first and a game console second. Even friends that weren't "gamers" had one. Sure, the Xbox played movies also, but if you asked the common person about it, they didn't have a clue what the Xbox even was.
  17. "Is friendly fire on?" BANG. "Yep." Ah, the good ol' days of Ghost Recon and one shot, one kill.
  18. I just sat in a theater with the wife for four and a half hours watching the Return of the King for the 20th anniversary and I can confirm that I still don't give two shits about Gollum.
  19. I thought it was like working in a line kitchen cuz you're forced to work with a bunch of dickwads you don't even like.
  20. Just downloaded Forbidden West through PS Plus but I'm trying to wrap up Hogwarts first (that game just keeps going). My Frontlog is getting ridiculous.
  21. I don't see how Ubi feels this is sustainable when they release like, one major game a year (if that). What's their retention strategy? Do they plan on publishing smaller indie games like they used to? So many questions.
