  1. Well goddamn that's like RE All-Stars. Or All-S.T.A.R.S. amirite?
  2. I've actually found the videos of old games do quite well. While the "game of the week" video (i.e. Resident Evil 4) have a limited lifespan before they get buried, the "retro" game videos have much longer legs (at least for me). The most popular video on my tiny little channel is a video covering an old PSP game. It has vastly out-performed any other video on my channel. I can't really give much in the way of advice to anyone, though. My channel barely has any subs, but I also work full time so this is just a fun thing for me to do. If it makes enough to buy me a cup of coffee once a month, hey that would be great lol. But I'm not holding my breath. I will say, editing videos is work. If you dont at least kind of enjoy it, it might not last long. And that's coming from someone who isn't going to win any awards.
  3. I find myself having less and less patience for pointless conversations in games nowadays.... which is why I've fallen off JRPGs when I used to love them. I haven't even beaten Tales of Arise yet, and I generally love the Tales series. But omg the amount of pointless conversations in that game....
  4. The part in the canyon where you have to turn the crank and the ganados are throwing dynamite, and the cave where you have to snag the dynamite to blow the cave-in are two that immediately come to mind. Also the walled in area when you first encounter the chainsaw woman (where you can have Ashley hide in the locker). I killed and killed and they just kept coming so I just eventually ran through and did what I needed to do. It's entirely possible I just didn't stick around long enough but I killed quite a few in each instance before I eventually said screw it.
  5. I would bet 1000% it had to do with Final Fantasy VII Remake disappearing from the Xbox. That game was announced as coming to the system at first, and no that's Mandela effect because I distinctly remember looking it up shortly after the original announcement to see if it was coming to Xbox and the guy confirmed it. They must have signed the Sony agreement shortly after because then they failed to mention the Xbox ever again after that. On top of that, I'm almost positive that Squeenix's excuse of "MS policies" being why FFXIV never came to the system was a load of bullshit. I'm pretty sure MS would've bent over backwards to get a piece of that pie. If I were MS i'd be pretty sour too that a publisher reneged on one of the most anticipated games of the generation. That probably didn't help relations much, especially since MS looked kinda dumb after saying "every Final Fantasy coming to Xbox" then had a handful of lazy ports and no MMO.
  6. That was a really dumb statement for them to make at the beginning of the game. I ignored that and chose Normal anyway, and I'm still struggling with the game because there are a lot more areas where the enemies never stop respawning, but there's really no way to know until after you've spent a shit ton of ammo killing a bunch of them. Then you just kinda realize it's never going to stop and move on. I've been squeezed on ammo a few times because of this. It's one of the few things I don't really like about the game. The game is different enough from the original where it doesn't really matter if you've played it before, except maybe the strategy of one or two bosses, like the first giant fight.
  7. I do have to admit, I don't like the new actress' voice for Ada either. It does actually feel a bit flat, like she recorded her lines in her closet one night while trying not to wake anyone up. She went from suave, sophisticated spy chick to morning radio DJ. That said, it's nothing I would waste energy complaining about on the internet. What I will complain about is that while I'm enjoying the game, holy shit the pacing is all over the place. It's like they took their sweet time and expanded the hell out of some areas, then squeezed the shit out of others. You can wander through an area for two hours doing almost nothing, then have to do a bunch of stuff back to back to back. For example, last night I was playing through an area where there wasn't a whole lot going on, then I hit a spot where I had to fight a bunch of ganados along with two of the blind guys with the metal wolverine claws, then a few minutes later got dropped into the cave where you have to run around escaping Salazar's "right hand" while the elevator lowered, then had to run around in an area with infinitely respawning enemies and chainsaw chicks to get the dynamite, THEN I got dropped almost immediately into the twin giant fight in the lava room. I had to stop playing because I was just fucking exhausted.
  8. To be fair, ReedPop inherited a shitshow. They had to know it was gonna be an uphill battle trying to redeem what the ESA had done fucked up so bad.
  9. Well, at least we still have PAX South. oh, wait.
  10. Yeah, the rise of streaming high quality video straight into everyone's phones pretty much killed E3 a long time ago, it's just been dying a slow agonizing death. It'll be a shame though, I have such fond memories of E3 from over the years. I remember when E3 was only this mythical, magical thing that you only read about a month after it happened. I used to eagerly anticipate my August copies of Electronic Gaming Monthly and Gamepro, as they'd be twice the thickness of other months and be absolutely loaded with information. I'd read those stories over and over on the bus to and from school. Me and my buddies would talk about the games we read about in whatever gaming magazines we had. It was a great fuckin time. Then G4TV came around and we got to actually see stuff from the game floor, but the press conferences themselves were still off-limits to filming, so all we could do was listen to the VJ's talk about what they saw, and show clips and shit from the show floor. Again, a great fuckin time. Then came the internet and streaming and what we know today, and it's still a great time, but with this constant, instant access to practically everything, and the steady stream of information daily, it's all a bit de-sensitizing. With all the leaks and podcasters chomping at the bit to be the first to break a story, and the publishers also chomping at the bit to break their own news before the other publishers (and the leakers) have a chance to steal the spotlight, it's all a big jumble. Unfortunately E3 just doesn't really fit into all of this. There's no going back. I'm surprised they even tried. Not a bit Keighly fan but he recognized where the industry was going and he took advantage of the Covid disruption to push his digital event. It was a well executed chess move and to his credit, he pulled it off. Now I'm realizing just how much I miss print. I was even feeling a bit nostalgic the other day and decided to purchase a gaming mag at the book store the other day. Then I saw the $16.99 price tag and was like "nah that's ok."
  11. I really hope it's fun. I haven't enjoyed a new Zelda game in what feels like forever. I couldn't really get into Skyward Sword because of the waggle controls on the Wii (haven't played the FULL PRICE port yet) and Breath of the Wild just kinda bored me. I miss the tightly designed areas where everything was intentional. BotW's big sandbox approach isn't why I go to Zelda. Maybe I'm just weird for wanting the same thing over and over again, but Zelda games had the solid foundation with whatever little gameplay gimmick that mixed it up a little, and that was what I liked about it.
  12. I would've killed that shit a long time ago. Made sense when it was first starting out and they needed to convince people to buy in, but now it's just common gamer knowledge that it's a legit service. No need to panhandle for users anymore.
  13. I mean, the beauty of the original arcade game was that it was too big to pick up and throw.
  14. So I've played RE4 through many, many times..... But this is the first time in forever I've had to play with vanilla weapons. It requires effort! I want my fuggin' chicago typewriter already.
  15. Just put in about an hour or so... omg it's so good. I have to say... as someone who is a pretty big fan of ARPG dungeon hack n slash games, I don't think I've ever given a shit about the story in any of them. But damn I have to admit, this time it's got its hooks in. These cutscenes are damn good.
  16. Sigh.. okay so what I played was really cool. I waited in the queue for about 20 minutes (even though estimated was 55), watched the fucking cool intro scene, played for about five minutes then had to turn it off because something else came up. I'll try again tonight when the entire rest of the country is in the queue. Even though i'm 1000% sure I'll get this day one anyway.
  17. I've been offered $300 for the lot, but I declined. People pay a lot of money for useless shit they really want, all the time. Just look at how much money some dudes pay for used panties.
  18. Does this mean we get to stop hearing all of the inane BS coming from both sides? I mean, I hope not, cuz it's highly entertaining, but does it?
  19. It's on Kindle Unlimited, if anyone has that. Although I tried reading it on my kindle and holy is it tough. I need to just pick up a paperback of it already. And to those who were commenting about the toys. I've been a huge TMNT fan since I was a kid, and I...... still have all my TMNT toys. As in the originals. And the Turtle Van. And the Sewer playset. My brother keeps telling me I could a pretty good chunk of change for them on the internet, but man, I dunno. They are a big part of me, they went with me everywhere. In Toy Story 3 when Andy gave away Buzz and Woody I was bawling like a little bitch because I couldn't imagine doing that with my turtles. I don't even have kids to leave them to, so they'll have to be sold eventually, but I just don't know if I could get myself to do it.
