In a week that saw a lot of movement of the leaderboard, ManUtdRedDevils takes advantage of the chaos and slides back into the #1 position going into Week 6!  

 

########## WEEK 5 RESULTS ##########

 

Week 5 Feature Game: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5) at Chicago Bears
The Bears get the upset, winning by a score of 20-15.5(19-3.5). Bets on Chicago win.

 

QUESTIONS


1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Buccaneers TD, Buccaneers FG, Buccaneers safety, Bears TD, Bears FG, Bears safety, or other? ($600 for the correct call)
Ryan Succop hits a 39 yarder for a Bucs field goal and the first score of the game.

 

2) Which team in the Feature Game will have the most total rushing yards? ($400 for the correct call)
Not much of a ground game in this one, but Tampa Bay takes Question 2 by putting up 106 total rushing yards to Chicago's 35.

 

3) This turf tastes lovely: name the quarterback that is sacked the most in Week 5 ($800 for the correct answer)
Jow Burrow ate dirt a ridiculous 7 times in Week 5.  ManUtdRedDevils was the only player to see Burrow's no good very bad day coming.

 

4) Which team will have a higher average yards per play in the L.A. Rams at Washington Football Team game? ($400 for the correct team)
The return of Alex Smith to game action couldn't save this one for the Football Team, with L.A. averaging 6.5 yards per play to Washington's 2.1.

 

5) Call the winners:
Carolina at Atlanta
Jacksonville at Houston
Philadelphia at Pittsburgh
($500 for EACH correct named game winner, $800 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)

Vegas would've lost bad this week, as several players named all 3 games to earn the bonus!
 

6) Name the highest scoring team in Week 5. ($800 for the right name)
The Dolphins are the Week 5 scoring leader, hanging 43 on the Niners.

 

7) Name the lowest scoring team in Week 5. ($800 for the correct call)
The Bengals notch a single field goal for their only 3 points of the game and to be low team on the scoring totem pole.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week five. ($1,800 for each player named correctly, $4,000 bonus if both names are called)
Todd Gurley stomped for 121 yards to leader all runners while Brandon Cooks led the receivers with 161 yards caught.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR WEEK 6 AND GOING FORWARD

 

- The Mock Gambling "Week" starts with the kickoff of the first scheduled game of the week and ends at the conclusion of Monday Night Football.  With all the COVID-19 schedule rearrangement happening, you need to keep this in mind.  Games played after the end of the MGT week (a game pushed to a Tuesday, for example) will not count.  This effects your MGT answers in 2 ways:

  1. If a game that is in Question #5 or is the Feature Game gets pushed to a Tuesday after the thread for the week has been posted, a new game will be selected in its place and I will make a post @'ing all the players so that you have the opportunity to change your answers.
  2. For the purpose of any "which team" or "which player" questions (most yards, most sacks, highest scores, etc.) games played after MNF will be non-existent as far as the MGT is concerned.  So don't choose a player who will be playing Tuesday or Wednesday as your top RB for the week; you will be very incorrect.

- Keep an eye on the deadline.  You may have more or less time than you think to mull over your answers.  This week, for example, since TNF was canceled the entry deadline isn't until the Sunday early games kick off.

 

- Since I lock these threads at the deadline, it doesn't leave a lot of room for friendly game day trash talking.  Keep an eye out for the MGT 2020 Discussion thread which will be made shortly for just that purpose. :P
