As the NFL emerged from the weirdest off-season ever, so too does Alpha1Cowboy emerge as our leader after Week 1!  How long will he be able to hold on to that top spot?

 

########## WEEK 1 RESULTS ##########

 

Week 1 Feature Game - Houston Texans (+9.5) at Kansas City Chiefs
The defending Super Bowl champs win their home opener against the Texans by a score of 34-29.5(20+9.5).  Bets on the Chiefs win.

 

QUESTIONS
1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Texans TD, Texans FG, Texans safety, Chiefs TD, Chiefs FG, Chiefs safety, or other? ($300 for the correct call)
David Jonhson carried the ball for a 19 yard scramble and a touchdown to kick off the scoring on Thursday for the first score of the 2020 NFL season. Nobody called a Houston TD.

 

2) How many field goals (not PATs) will be scored in the Feature Game? ($300 for the correct call)
Only 2 drives ended in field goals in this one. thewhyteboar was the only player to guess this correctly.

 

3) How many penalties will be thrown and accepted in the feature game? ($300 for the correct call)
6 flags were thrown and accepted in what seemed like a pretty disciplined affair considering it was the first game. Slug was the only player to get this one right.

 

4) Which team will have more turnovers in the Week 1 match-up between the Seahawks and the Falcons?  ($200 for the correct call)
Atlanta threw and interception and lost one fumble which Seattle managed to stay clean in the turnover battle.  Guesses on Atlanta get it.

 

5) Call the winners:
Chicago at Detroit
LA Chargers at Cincinnati
Tennessee at Denver
($200 for EACH correct named game winner, $600 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
Not a lot of people had confidence in Chicago.  As a result, ManUtdRedDevils and Alpha1Cowboy were the only players to call all three games correctly to earn the bonus.

 

6) How many total points will be scored in the Washington at Philadelphia game? 0-10, 11-24, 25-36, 37-45, or 46-55 or 55+ ($300 for the correct guess)
The Football Team came back from a 17 point deficit to beat the Eagles 27-17.  37-45 is the call.

 

7) Name the player who will score the first touchdown of the Tampa Bay @ New Orleans game (by "score" we mean "the player holding the ball in the end-zone; don't name a QB unless you are guessing a rushing TD by them) ($400 for the correct answer)
Tom Brady keeps the ball himself, charging into the endzone from 2 yards out for the first touchdown of this game and his first as a Buc.  Shockingly nobody guessed this.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week one. ($1,000 for each player named correctly, $3,000 bonus if both names are called) 
Clyde Edwards-Helaire led all runners with 138 yards on the ground while Julio Jones topped all receivers with 157 in the air.  thewhyteboar nailed the outside Edwards-Helaire call for a nice bump in cash!  Nobody called Jones though, so no bonus awarded.
