I've been playing online because unlike the other games there's really no downside to it.

I don't like the hint messages and bloodstains and shit everywhere on my first playthroughs, that's the only reason. I end up getting distracted and reading them constantly etc.

I really tried playing this game on PC, but my god, the controls are not designed for this. I finally just gave up.

I believe in you @brucoe I beat DS1 and technically DS3 (need to do DLC areas) with KB&M. will beat Elden Ring and Sekiro with KB&M. I even got good at multiplayer.

I've helped friends, but at least right now, I want to do what I can alone in my own game.

Needed help for the 2 main bosses I have fought so far but I think I'm at the point where my build just pwns. I do feel I fucked up decided to do quality because technically 40 dex/str will do more damage then 40 str but it means I need to dump points into dex as opposed to keeping my points focused on str and endurance.

Mm but what if you left a message and you got a red pulse every time someone appraised it? :daydream:

I left a message it's got like over 34 appraisals so far. If any of you find it vote me up!

Pair it with the Turtle Shield and Stamina Physick... watch your stamina damn near instantly come back.

I've consistently found invaders to summon at the Tree Sentinel site. There's also an arena shaped landscape feature under a bridge near Stormveil Castle where you can frequently find invader summon signs, it's north of the Warmaster's Shack.. I'm sure that in a week or so, there will likely be an agreed upon community spot, such as just after Pontiff in DS3 or the Bridge just before entering Iron Keep in DS2.

Where do you get the turtle shield?

Actually they aren't. If you go back there is a dude sitting in a chair who tells you to jump off. If you didn't jump off you missed it. Also there are a bunch of multiplayer messages telling you to jump off. And you could jump or roll down the side but yeah, there's your tutorial area.

When you get to the tutorial area, the game stops and presents pop ups to you and you CAN’T miss those. They could easily hit you with one of those to make sure you don’t miss the tutorial area, or ask you if you want to go through it, etc. There’s also no reason that the game doesn’t give you something like the crafting kit at the same time you get access to leaving messages. It’s obscurity for the sake of obscurity.

I can't actually do that. Well the stormveil. Once you beat a boss in an area no more invasions are possible. Atleast in the Dark Souls trilogy.

Stop playing Horizon and play this game instead. Thanks. :peace:

EDIT: Actually I think it's wondefully designed. EVERYONE can see it. Chris even admitted he saw it and didn't go. Now if you are new to the series you'll surely jump down.

If you're a vet maybe you won't but if you've played before you don't really need the information there.

Or you could try to find a way down there that doesn't result in death, if you think you're going to die, like I said I rolled down the side very safely. Also from what I've noticed this game is very generous with fall damage, something you'd learn if you jumped off as well!

IIRC, Co-Op and Named NPC Summons are the only thing affected by Boss Status in Souls games. Invader Summon Signs for PvP should be unaffected. There were plenty of post-game fight clubs setup for DS3 at Pontiffs where you could invite white and red phantoms for staged fights.

Weeping Peninsula, I forget the exact location, but it's in a tower near Castle Morne.

That's where I am now. Will look for it.

Havent read up on everything in here, but if you die in the Castle, or maybe Dungeons as well, you lose 20%ish of runes even if you recover them.  Didn't realize it, but died with 13k and only had 10k when I recovered them, stings a bit.

I just come to grips with probably losing all of my runes if I get into a castle or large dungeon. It just is what it is. If im close to a lvl, ill finish getting enough to level before I move on.

From just designed modern classic after modern classic for like a decade plus, they know better when to give players a crafting kit than any of us.

You don't understand...if I see something on the ground I MUST. CLICK. IT.

I would be at the entrance of Stormveil after 50 hours.

I thought it was hilarious when I talked to that vendor for the first time, and there’s an option to ask him what he recommends. “Hey, you might want this key item you’ll use for the rest of the game.”

So I don’t know if I’m slow on this but after going crazy trying to find map shards I’ve figured it out. They are all next to those monolith things the first one was. Also as long as the map isn’t foggy it’s marked on the map as a monolith thing and they are all as far as I can tell along a main road. Just unlocked a good chunk of the map.

Messages are free healing so they are great

No spoilers really, but just hiding images from cluttering up the thread

Also, the map isn't nearly as large as I exclaimed. Still a very good size, but a lot of the empty space is water.

Now the map might be spoilers.

Bloodhound's Fang

I use it. You use it. Everybody uses it. It is definitely the n00b weapon of the game. Not because it is bad, but because it is very good with no skill required. It is a great weapon for newbs and vets. I guess the downside is that you can make other weapons stronger faster. I have had it plus 2 for a while now, but the other sword I dual wield is +8 and deals more damage. Doesn't have bleed tho.

Eh I think it's actually a bit touchy to use during bosses sometimes. You REALLY have to watch your attack window because it's somewhat slow compared to a regular sword or similar. I started with Estoc and this one's windup really fucked me up during bosses at first, their combos tend to be really quick. Still a fantastic weapon if you can be a bit selective about when to attack.
