It was no Christmas Episode but it was way better than this thread is making it out to be. It was decent enough.

Boooooo and yes luckily they wrapped up season 1 nicely so you can watch it and it had a good ending.

Yeah I’m glad I read that before I watched the episode. Added a little something extra knowing that wasn’t CGI they were interacting with.

This is getting awfully close to bombs in space territory. Just watched it. I’ll agree with whoever said it felt a little quick. Not rushed per se but that episode felt like it could have been 30 minutes longer to build the tension a bit more? As usual the new stuff they added was fantastic and the adaption of what was already in the game was excellently done. Those god damn giraffes. I thought the music and the way the did Joel working through the hospital was extremely effective. I do think they kind of left him a little kinder than he was in the games. I’m fine with that. Following his journey in the show it’s a more realistic outcome and will really help to build S2. 10/10 this show was utterly fantastic. Remember when people thought adapting Joel and Ellie’s story would be redundant and boring. Good times.

So apparently the actress who played Abby in the game was one of doctors/nurses/people in scrubs in the show. Cool.

you’re very close. I think my next play through after that was when I finished it. Granted that playthrough was like 4 hours long because the end is compelling as fuck and I didn’t want to put it down haha.

Movie looks amazing. I’ll be that guy. I hope Pratt takes over voicing Mario in the games and he starts talking more. Why? Because he sounds completely fine and fuck everyone. That’s why.

I need to watch this again. I think I was too young to appreciate it when it hit theaters. Same with Thin Red Line which I’ve gone back and watched and absolutely changed my mind about.

TLoU2 spoilers: I agree with all your points. That being said, can you please put any video game story beats that haven’t been revealed behind spoilers. There’s a bunch of people in this thread that are here for the show and haven’t played the games.

Didn’t love it. Dude waited a whole year to go after Will Smith? Not that it wasn’t deserved but I dunno, if you’re going to wait a full year at least come up with something more nuanced and clever. All that just sounded like an angry social media post he coulda put out the next day.

Wow, compete and utter wow. The show has been so excellent so far but in the back of my head I was always wondering if they’d really be able to pull off winter. After that part of the game is when I had to take a break for a week or so. It was so emotionally draining and depressing. The scene in the restaurant will always be one of my top most memorable video game moments. I didn’t know a video game could make me feel that way. So for them to have completely nailed the whole damn thing and some how also made it better is incredible. The violence line, the baby girl line. Perfect. I have no doubt that they will stick the landing and that the ending will land as hard if not harder than it did in the game.

This! That FOMO out that @skillzdadirecta talked about is really hard to overcome. It’s taken me personally a long time to get to a place where I don’t feel guilty about not buying every AAA game that comes out. Wasted a lot of money on Bethesda games before I finally admitted to myself that I just don’t love their games and there’s nothing wrong with that. Plenty of other games to be spending time not having fun. Now we’re just working on not feeling guilty about not finishing games haha.

Souls games(the real ones from From) don’t really require extra skill though. They’re not like fighters or shooters where diminishing twitch reflexes have an effect on your ability to compete. Souls games are way more about patience and a willingness to learn patterns than actual skill. People beat these games with dance pads lol.

It’s crazy how many times they keep introducing new combat mechanics. Each I got to a point where I thought “huh, this is the combat? I’m gonna get bored soon” boom, new mechanic that completely changes it. I didn’t finish it because I’m also at a point in my life where I struggle to finish 20 hour games let alone 120 hours games but I genuinely enjoyed my time with it despite not finishing it. It’s a great game.

Or just find a recap on YouTube that takes 5 minutes? Or read the Wiki real quick? It’s not that big a deal.
