  1. I have friends in Fort Lee and go there a decent amount. I lived in Rego Park, Queens for a really long time and recently moved out to Long Island, Huntington Station to be precise. Never lived in Jersey but am there a decent amount yup.
  2. I have the completely illogical opinion that a Scorsese or Scott has earned the right to say whatever stupid shit they want to say about cinema. I can dislike those opinions all day long but at the end of the day, the motherfucker still made Alien and Blade Runner so...pop off queen?
  3. That looks fantastic, seriously. You going to NYC in the spring?
  4. Okay you win, I'm too fucking lazy to pull up Google Translate again haha On another note, I'm getting hungry as hell
  5. I've legitimately never had Taco Bell before. They're all over the place now that I moved to the burbs but I can't get myself to do it
  6. You're right, let me try again: Aquí está la verdadera pregunta... qué prefiere todo el mundo: cáscara blanda o cáscara dura?
  7. Here's the real question...what does everyone prefer: soft shell or hard shell?
  8. Yeah, this segment is fucking pure gold. It's from a documentary called The Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. It's overly sympathetic but also a fascinating and completely uncensored look into Appalachian poverty and coal miner culture. There's some REALLY funny shit just like this but I think it's legit a great docu. PS: The title refers to the family it follows, their last name is White. The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2009) - IMDb WWW.IMDB.COM The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia: Directed by Julien Nitzberg. With J. Parker Bazzle II, Big & Rich, Ponty's Camper, Derek Wayne Castle. A year in the life of the White family, well known for Jesco White, the star of the "Dancing Outlaw" documentary.
  9. Something I remember doing constantly, despite it barely serving any purpose, was rolling and then shotgunning dudes. I was WAY into A Better Tomorrow and The Killer at the time and this game was letting you do some stuff close to Woo shots, it was awesome. I'm sure it plays like shit by today's standards but still, if they did a reboot and actually stuck the landing, it'd be a great Action game.
  10. It reminded me of two movies I love, The Assassination of Jesse James and Ravenous. Not that they're the same or anything but I wondered if it was influenced by either of those. You have any other recommendations in that, or a similar, vein? I thought of There Will Be Blood as well, or at least that I need to rewatch that at some point.
  11. Exactly this. And MGS was a totally different game. I don't think they're comparable even. Syphon Filter was the early baby steps of a TPS with surprising combat options on top. This combination would be great shit in a modern package.
  12. The Revenant I'm not really sure what to rate it honestly but my favorite aspect, and main reason I kept watching, was the nature photography and sense of place. It was really a weird watch for me because I felt like I didn't connect to any of the story, nor characters, at all and there was a weird artifice about it that I can't put my finger on. I wasn't able to suspend disbelief or something as in I didn't buy any of the characters and the film's artsy ambitions felt rote and mechanical to me. I usually quite like DiCaprio as well but I didn't in this either. Maybe just not 'for me' as they say but I did finish it solely to marvel at the gorgeous landscapes. Anybody have recommendations for movies of a similar ilk in terms of untamed North America etc.? I know that's vague and all but couldn't think of a better way to phrase it.
  13. Wanted to circle back to this thread because I finally got a chance to start a new PS5 Director's Cut playthrough. I'm in the middle of Chapter 3 by now and the additions so far are all nothing but improvements in my opinion. The addition of the Ruined Factory especially, with a much better introduction of combat/stealth in the opening area, really lifted the pacing and the location is great. I also really like the Firing Range and the many small QoL improvements and additional items so far. None of them suddenly make the game easier, fundamentally different or anything. I think they simply improve the pacing and options available. Also, the game is fucking gorgeous on PS5.
  14. That tazer alone entertained me for so many hours. This game felt really 'open' to me at the time, it seemingly had so many cool little details and options. I remember there being many instances where you could John Woo style blast dudes through glass windows with a shotgun and stuff like that. It was primitive but a lot of those little details blew my mind at the time. Also the sniper rifle was great.
  15. I actually liked the Nioh demo more than the full game and the reason was probably that the best two levels were in that demo anyway. I still think Nioh is great but the level design took a massive shit quickly compared to the demo.
  16. I've been cheated on a few times and cheated once myself. I felt absolutely nothing either way when I did it surprisingly enough and never felt the need to confess, really it just kind of happened and it was done and I never thought about it again.
  17. While I'm generally not terribly excited about this game, that's actually one thing that'd get me more psyched. I have issues with Sekiro as a game overall but the movement and actual core combat was really, really good. I'd be really into playing that transplanted into Souls.
