  1. Also you can buy Absinthe ice cream on the street there and they mean it. I thought it was a tourist joke thing and got wrecked because I ordered two scoops. I still have a great, nerdy Kafka shirt from the Kafka cafe.
  2. Finished Midnight Mass sometime last week and didn't like it at all. The Great: Seasons 2 is out and ended up watching the first two episodes and...it's still great gladly! I really enjoy this show. The sets and costumes are fucking gorgeous and it's incredibly funny.
  3. I second that, though I've only been to Haiti and obviously that's a big-ass no-go especially right now.
  4. If you're going to Europe, I wanna throw Prague out there. One of my favorite cities I've visited, I try to go every time I go visit the family since it's only a few hours by train. It just feels so old in a good way. The architecture is gorgeous, the food is great and it's cheap.
  5. The Last Of Us 2 Resident Evil Village I put two hours into RE8 and I'm not sure I like it very much. Just moving and aiming feels like a chore and off. It's so cumbersome and it throws me off that it walks and quacks like RE4 but doesn't have the fun combat options. Game just feels off and annoying to play to me but I'll give it another chance later. TLOU2 however, I haven't put this shit down since right after Village that night. More on it when I'm done but fuck, this is some best-of-all-time tier Action gameplay and encounter design. Also, it's a fantastic sequel so far and I'll admit I actually find the insane violence of the combat to hugely add to the atmosphere. It's fun to be fucking evil.
  6. My goodness, the gameplay in TLOU2 is fine-tuned to perfection. Just got to the hospital and that whole stretch was pure gold, damn. Also, the dogs scare the shit out of me. I immediately panic when I see one. Playing on Hard with some Survivor settings thrown in and the 'survival at all costs' atmosohere is even better than the first one.
  7. Bought TLOU2 on sale last night and just got to Seattle and did the bank immediately. I really liked the gameplay in the original and this seems to improve on every aspect of it so far. The opening has been excruciatingly slow and full of 'push up for 10 minutes for exposition but that seems to have been a very long tutorial more than anything so whatever. I really like the added mobility and light platforming so far as well. Also, the animation in this game is almost eerie it's so good. It constantly catches me off guard. And I like gory games so this is going well with my second playthrough of Death Stranding. Overall, really great first impression despite the slow-ass pace. And I'm glad they immediately
  8. Same reason. The thing is looking gross and about to fall apart.
  9. These look pretty good actually and my local Best Buy has a few in stock and on sale. Cool thanks!
  10. They do look a bit uncomfortable yea. Hmmm. How's the bass on these?
  11. Trying to pick a new pair of headphones for the PS5 and the amount of stuff out there is overwhelming. Thinking of just buying the Pulse 3D because the price point is right and it seems easy. What's your opinion on them?
  12. At least as far as I recall, the first REC movie was pretty damn good and worth a watch. Maybe because I was high but I remember it as being pretty intense.
  13. I did yeah. I actually really ended up liking the combat in that game but I hope they opened up the ultra-strict "small arena, cutscene, small arena, cutscene" structure in the sequel.
  14. We should have a thread of Movies That Shit The Bed. If I put my mind to it, I'm sure I can come up with quite the list. There's nothing more disappointing than getting into a film, being immersed and invested and then disaster strikes.
  15. I thought it was unintentionally hilarious. The scene in the attic made the whole theater burst out laughing when I saw it. Kid jumping out of the window especially was great.
  16. Prometheus is one of those movies where the buildup is so fucking good and it just absolutely shits the bed in spectacular fashion in the last act. I'm still mad about it whenever it comes up. It had so much potential, at least at the time. Only saw it once in the theater and was absolutely livid that it squandered everything about that amazing lore. Only other movie in recent memory that shat the bed this hard was Hereditary for my money but at least it was hilarious. I refuse to see Covenant or whatever that other shit is called.
  17. I've asked myself this question many times. I live off a pretty busy road with a 45mph speed limit and I constantly see people jogging on the shoulder/parking lane with a sidewalk empty as far as the eye can see.
  18. Firmly hooked on Death Stranding again, turning me into a MULE. Also had a user with a spectacular name finish one of my roads yesterday so it popped up on screen as: "BIG_FAT_JEW_69 contributed materials to"
  19. I don't know about the last 10 years but Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is one of those games that left absolutely nothing to be desired. It gets everything right in my book. The gameplay, level design, difficulty, pacing, overall length, story, it's all borderline flawless. I also absolutely loved Desperados III but overall still prefer Shadow Tactics despite technical improvements. It feels just that tad bit more uh inspired I guess? That being said, I've played an absurd amount of really great games in the past few years, it's kind of hard to even pick one. I could also mention the Demon's Souls remake. They really did polish that game to an asinine level of shine. I still prefer the sound design in the original but the remake was just a different flavor that also worked beautifully. I want to mention Returnal because it's the newest game in my favorite games ever list but there are a few things I would've liked to have seen additionally. Doesn't mean I like the other, more 'perfect', games more but still.
