  1. I think I'm picking this up instead of Elden Ring just because I don't have time for that game right now and Sifu looks like it'll be perfect for that.
  2. I see what he did there!!!!! It's actually so stupid that I got a good laugh.
  3. I know it does and I'm with it for the first few glacially-paced set pieces but I can never get over the hump of the overall pacing. They're absolutely gorgeous set pieces obviously. Anyway, I'll try it again, I might have the patience for it these days, my viewing habits have changed quite a bit.
  4. PSN is also atom631, right? Sorry man I kept forgetting to add you! My PSN is ApocalypticRaid
  5. It's a really intimidating game until it clicks, I had a hard time with it at first and was too focused on progress in terms of beating a level. Focus more on unlocking weapon perks and learning how to deal with each enemy type and fast movement at first. Also always unlock things at the obelisk you see in the first room you always spawn in, the Cthonos obelisk. You can spend Ether to permanently unlock potential artifact drops
  6. That'll come with practice. I never hit 100% of them or anything but once you get used to your favorite guns, it'll mostly become second nature. But again, it's not that big of a deal to miss the overload if you're moving, moving, moving. Also dash through projectiles, not away from them, or simply jumb over them and dash mid-air. The only projectiles you can't dash through are noticeably color-coded in purple. And regarding combat, lean into your melee. It's really strong and will kill the basic grunts in Biome 1 with one hit and many other small grunts as well. Bigger enemies can often be instantly staggered with one melee hit opening them up for serious damage to weak points. Also the melee move is highly magnetic, you don't have to be precise at all. You can even easily do it on flying enemies like the purple bats, the melee will pull you into them even if you're not exactly on them. Also a good tactic if you're down for a sec because of a botched Overload, dash in and melee instead. I just remembered I had saved a little clip at one point of me no-damage clearing a lockdown room in Biome 1 after Act 3. I'm not saying this is some amazing shit or anything but just to illustrate some of the tips I've been throwing out there:
  7. Mostly black, gray and white with the emphasis on black, because I'm still an angsty teenager cosplaying as a grown up.
  8. The default dash being on Circle makes no sense. The reason I remapped it was because I was playing Nex Machina, their previous game, a lot right before Returnal and the dash quite literally feels the same and it's mapped to L1. Also don't really know why auto-run isn't turned on by default, there is no level design or combat scenario where you need precision platforming or anything that doesn't require speed.
  9. What made the absolute biggest difference for me and kept elevating my playstyle was putting more emphasis on constant movement and repositioning. Also absolutely turn on auto-run. There is no reason to ever not run in this game and by always sprinting you can out-maneuver most enemies and their attacks just simply by staying on your toes. I also remapped the controls early on which I think made it feel much quicker overall: L1 = Dash R1 = Interact/Grapple Auto-Run = On When you get the grapple, use the shit out of it in combat constantly. There will be grapple points all over the arenas and it grants you major I-frames, you can even grapple through purple beams which are usually impassable. Don't worry about your accuracy and don't stand still. Only use ADS when you're in a spot where you need to hit a weak spot or when you want to use your secondary fire and it requires precision aiming. Play it like a twin stick arcade shooter, not a TPS.
  10. It's basically the Souls save system but you do it manually. I haven't used it yet myself. So yeah, you save your current state, go back later and if you wanna save again, it overwrites automatically. There are no save files or anything from what I understand, they just incorporated the system suspend thing into the actual game more or less.
  11. I somehow just saw this one for the first time last month, what a movie.
  12. I have to fully admit that one of the few very well-regarded epics I've ever watched where the run time absolutely bothered me was Once Upon A Time In The West. It's one of those movies I should love but every time I've watched it, I make it maybe halfway through. Never seen the entire film and I love all his other Westerns. I want to try again one of these days. I recently rewatched both The Hateful Eight and Django Unchained and despite their massive runtimes, both movies fly by for me. Same could be said for any of Tarantino's movies really, they're just incredibly entertaining. Need to revisit "Hollywood" but I really enjoyed that as well. Also did not realize Interstellar was that long, fucking loved every minute of it and it felt like it moved very quickly.
  13. Not true. I have my own, special format. I hate things virulently, then return to it and love it. It's either/or, not a mix. Happens to me with music and movies all the time as well.
  14. He was just in that shitty Coming To America sequel
  15. I've been playing with some cool advanced players from the game's Discord who gave me a lot of good advice is why. Game has a super harsh learning curve so just trying to relate what I've learned before he has a huge WTF moment like me and blows it off. I've put in like 70 hours already, practicing my aim in Training mode every night and shit. I'm determined lol
  16. Cool if you're ready to check it out I'd suggest doing all the Training missions first and then doing some Trials. Shooting is VERY different in this game. It's like what Dark Souls combat is to regular action games sort of. Very deliberate and animation heavy.
  17. I've already bashed it enough on here but I simply think the whole game feels awkward and lacking at a core level. It's like a gimped RE4 with a more limited moveset shoved into an outdated FPS template or something, pretty much just like you said. The opening segment is a prime example of how hard they were leaning into the RE4 nostalgia without seemingly understanding even a quarter of the stuff that made that game's village opening so fucking good. That marriage thing you said is the exact problem I have with it. It's the weaker aspects of both worlds combined in some weird hodgepodge that just doesn't work for me. The review scores and reception is baffling to me, really. I actually liked, what I played of it at least, RE6 more than this, at least the gameplay was legit.
  18. You and me both apparently Regarding playing, still the same shit for me. Been spending about 30 minutes in Hunt: Showdown's training mode every night just practicing my aim, trying to learn how to flick shoot, learning different guns. Never been so dedicated to learning a videogame lol
