  1. Actually...not really. So far I mainly have either basic knight looking stuff or armor pieces picked up from enemies. Nothing wild for me yet.
  2. The little blueish gravestone symbol must be on the left side of the screen and you have to have enough FP to cast the spirit as well. Basically the game dictates where you can use them by having that gravestone icon pop up.
  3. I cannot fucking believe Stormveil Castle is just there, just one 'dungeon' in the world. The level design and scale are some of From's best work for my money. Godrick at the end with the stormy skybox, it's just so good.
  4. The Curved Greatsword from the Gaol mini-boss? I'm using that, it's fucking great. Jump attacks are great in this game. I found a talisman to enhance those. Yum
  5. Ok so zoom close on the map and follow the main roads where it's still covered. It'll show you that. Along the main roads you'll see a little lamp looking drawing, same style as the map, not an actual icon. And good job man, Margit is tough. Use everything in your arsenal to fuck him up. Do you have magic or a bow?
  6. I just beat him right after posting that. Doing exactly that lol. Also, don't sleeo on Kukri knives to finish off a boss at a distance. I just took off his last few 100 HPs with those. In your face bitch.
  7. The Godrick fire phase is...something. I have no idea how to counter his arena-covering fire storms. Feels pretty stupid right now. Phase 1 isn't even hard but then it's just, k I guess we're done here.
  8. Be warned, this is still a Souls game through and through. It's an evolution much like Demon's to Dark Souls. It's still a difficult game but you're free to go level the shit out of yourself or do whatever you please to beat that ballbreaker boss. You could do that in previous games but it's more organic here. But I mean plenty of people in here weren't fans before and are gettin into it so this might be it for ya. Also 50% of players have beaten Margit per the trophies, you can definitely do it. It's a stupidly impressive game.
  9. I really like how dark areas REQUIRE a torch now. And they play on that fully now, something they had promised with DS2 promo material if anyone remembers that.
  10. I think Margit is a wall intended to make you go explore after looking at it in context of my progression. He naturally made me bounce off and only come back after exploring the hell out of Limgrave and ready for the fight. Not sure if that's the most elegant solution since the game does guide you straight to him but...it worked I guess? Was pretty frustrated for an hour or so at first thinking the game wanted me to beat him right away.
  11. Oops. Did not catch that. This is what's blowing my mind. Not only is the open world incredibly engaging and full of fun shit but then you get to a place like Stormveil and...it's the entirety of Boletarian Palace but a new height of level design and visual and vistas. Like look out West of Stormveil, just who the fuck designed this? They've always had stellar art but come ON. This game often reminds me of that 80s take on fantasy like The Last Unicorn or Legend. It's more whimsical than prior entries but also highly gothic and somber. Also the small additions in the side dungeons of traps you can interact with and small puzzle elements as well as the added platforming work wonders. I was in the River Bed (Sofria?) area yesterday and it had a full Tomb Raider platforming puzzle. That's my shit. This game quite literally has everything cool about videogames so far.
  12. I think he may be talking about the skeletal old lady looking statues that 'shoot' a blue-ish light beam? I'm pretty sure they lead you to dungeons. I've found three so far, followed and dungeon time at the end.
  13. @Chris- If Margit is giving you grief, keeo exploring and just wandering, leveling and so on. I played this like regular Souls first and thought I had to beat him right away. No fucking way with those combos. While I did learn his combos mostly, I came back with about 21/22 in Vitality and a baller-ass curved sword I got from one of the Gaol (sp?) bosses. Ended up beating him on my third try with not much damage/resources taken. Margit is tough and I think it's the game's way of going "dude...go explore". I've also been keeping on top of upgrading my weapons asap once I find the materials. On another note, I can't believe on top of the world design and everything, there's shit like Stormveil Castle. This is insane. I thought DS3 felt like a bored Greatest Hits album but Elden Ring feels like...a Greatest Hits with only the absolute best elements and enough new additions to be exciting as hell again. I don't know what differentiates it so much because all the elements are there yet this game feels so full of life and inspiration. This really might just be a masterpiece if it keeps delivering like this, I've played almost literally all fucking day. It's riveting and somehow even horse combat is awesome. There are also some subtle tweaks in movement or something because this is the smoothest feeling Souls game to me so far. What a phenomenal game and I'm legit happy to see a bunch of you who didn't like From's other output get sucked in.
  14. PSA: pick up all those crafting materials all the time. You can sell them for $10 each. I just made a good amount for some leveling selling all the stuff I didn't need. Same goes for weapons and other stuff you won't use. Sell it all.
  15. It theoretically does but the item descriptions are even more confusing than Souls because there are more systems. So it feels like you get jargon referencing jargon and other jargon...none of which means anything to the player yet.
  16. Got teleported to a crystal cave and shit got real. Total ass-reaming ensued. Btw, the red-eyed enemies may be at night time?? I thought enemies get buffed at night and have red eyes then. I bounced off Margit (sp?) last night finding him way too hard and realized how little I had actually explored and improved my character. Finding shit left and right now just wandering Limgrave and unlocking the map. Also beat Tree Sentinal, what a dick.
