That's the issue. I made it to the level prior at 29 but that boss fucked me up so I made it to the last level in my early 60s. I haven't really messed with the last boss yet but the last level is surprisingly weak and short.

By the way...I'm on the last level.

I saw something a while back where he mentioned Dead Space. Imagine making that game, clearly inspired by The Thing as probably a childhood favorite, and Carpenter ends up playing it and raving about it. I'd fucking faint.

Structurally it's exactly the same game, yup. The only one that gave me trouble again replaying it was 4-2. That run to the Old Hero boss really sucks.

Oh I absolutely had to! I forgot about that. Mine was stood up on its side, leaning against some books at an angle so the bottom could 'cool'. Who knows if that even worked.

Actually the only reason I played so many games later on was because we had the "Hong Kong Discs" hookup, as they called them. A friend of mine was good with electronics and modded our Playstations to play burnt discs and he knew this Chinese guy who would come through the local deli and barber shop with a massive shopping bag full of bootleg "Hong Kong Discs". They'd be CD-Rs of Playstation games with a super cheap photocopy of the cover wrapped around it. $5 each. And regarding movies, I actually had a friend who introduced me to John Woo and stuff like that and I got super obsessed with Hong Kong action flicks. One of my favorites was called In The Line Of Duty (on the box at least) but it turns out it's a whole series and I have no idea which one I kept watching. The one movie that really got me was Sword of Vengeance, the first Lone Wolf & Cub. I saw that before Shogun Assassin somehow and I LOOOOVED that movie.

Hey thanks for that post. I'm not sure why I've never considered visiting any of these places. I've been to Montreal a lot and it's about a 6 hour drive from my house, I should look up if Nova Scotia etc. are doable as well. Edit: Also, Newfoundland REALLY reminds me of Norway in every way. I've been to Bergen, Norway twice and this reminds me of it heavily.

Trailer is...I have no idea. I don't particularly dislike it but I'm not interested beyond it being a Peele flick either. The most intriguing part was the woman with the face veil. Not sure if she's just a character who happens to have a disfigurement or if it's indicative of what's to come.

I actually have no idea! I know the gif and have seen the movie but WAY back. My peak Shaw Brothers and martial arts flick period was like...15 to 20 or something and they all have those typically convoluted martial arts flick names. I'm not sure I could name any of the movies I've seen accurately unfortunately besides the Hong Kong action flicks. Btw, what's the deal with the Northeast and martial arts movies? I feel like a lot of my friends were, or are still, really into this stuff here.

Requiem For A Dream 10/10 I'm really biased but because it's one of those movies that had a massive impact on me. I saw it in the theater when it came out and it hit like a ton of bricks, I was the right age. Still not sure why I rewatch it once in a while because it never loses its potency. One of my favorite scenes is Tyrone getting carried away thinking he's Mr. Badass Drug Dealer and then reality hits in the limo. Ellen Burstyn's monolog also gets me like nothing else, she's absolutely incredible in this.
