  1. I Think You Should Leave (Netflix) - 6.5/10 Several of my friends recommend this to me for new comedy and it's wildly hit or miss for me. I love absurd humor, grew up on Monty Python etc., but it often gets in its own way as far as I'm concerned. As in, its absurdity sometimes feels really stilted to me, like they really didn't have an idea here or there and just went with the most absolutely random idea possible. When it does work, it can be really funny but the ratio was kind of 50/50 for me. The baby contest skit was great though with the audience verbally assaulting the 'bad boy' baby, ah shit.
  2. I'll vouch for this, Hard Boiled is like an Action gunplay orgasm. I saw it last maybe 10 years ago but used to watch it regularly and it's totally out of control.
  3. I want to be playing a damn Metroid Collection but alas...
  4. Shinji Mikami is apparently attending E3 and I secretly hope it's not for The Evil Within 3.
  5. I've been watching my friend play Sekiro via Share Play and wishing I could actually hear his hateful rages. He is just getting crushed left and right trying to play like Souls despite me trying to tell him it's a bad idea.
  6. The original was a defining gaming moment for me and I can't muster up an ounce of excitement for this either somehow. The episodic thing especially just makes me tune out. I just read 'incomplete game'.
  7. I'm not sure this is lamer than last month but pretty close. Another loser for me.
  8. I've actually spent something like 50+ hours, if not 60, in REMake 2. I've beaten the game in every scenario, basically every difficulty level, did the Ghost Survivors stuff, got the unlimited knife and so forth. My first playthrough was also like 10 hours The game is seriously addictive and the fact it's so compact and small only made the whole "just one more time" thing worse. I had almost forgotten the joys of this type of game design. I'm actually planning on picking it back up again soon, I can't get enough.
  9. Well, as you know, I basically agree with all your criticisms and yeah, I would be harsher on it. I actually straight-up think it's a bad game that happens to feature an amazing combat system when it does let you actually play it. Everything you've touched on crushed my fun with it to the point I was just trying to finish it because I felt guilty for dropping $60+ on the fucking thing Day 1. I could maybe, maybe, deal with the comical absence of any level design and/or aesthetics beyond that Deviant Art fan art tier drivel but the pacing is so egregious, it still boggles my mind that anyone can overlook this. The game constantly blue-balls you from actually engaging with what it does fabulously, styling on punching bag enemies with Nero and/or Dante. I felt like every single time I was just starting to actually enjoy a moment, it was brought to a screeching halt by something else. Constant loading screens, cutscenes, MINI-cutscenes, ARENA-cutscenes, forced character changes killing any momentum I had built up learning the combat system and the list goes on. Then there is V...my god...the absolute low point in the series including quite possibly DMC2 for me. I don't care if others can learn him or not, it was hands-down the least fun I've ever had with a combat system in any Character Action game and utterly frustrating for me when I know I could just be playing Nero or Dante. But no, the entire game seems to be built from the ground-up to get in its own way at every turn. Garbage level design and aesthetics, pacing etc. or not, I was actually starting to really enjoy myself by the time I was fighting Artemis with Nero. It was ramping up nicely and started being real DMC-ish. At this point the game bafflingly decides to kill all momentum by forcing you into a completely new and bizarre combat system and have you start from scratch essentially. I...don't get it. Also, the game's standard highest difficulty for a first playthrough is too low and feels unengaging compared to DMC3. I don't want my first playthrough of a game to be a boring slog with the promise of possibly being challenged later. I don't remember what I rated it previously but with some time elapsed... D1P Lowly No-Chancellor Evaluation: 60% (exclusively for the Nero and Dante combat system, everything around it is hot garbage) PS: I will be re-installing it sometime soon if I'm really bored to check out Bloody Palace. Not what I paid all that money for but at least something.
  10. Oh hmmm...that actually sounds cool. I honestly ignored it because Conviction was so stupid. I'll put it on the list!
  11. I'm salaried but have enough clout and seniority to have basically told them that all kinds of unpaid OT isn't happening anymore after years of busting my ass like that. It used to be too much per week, now it's 40 to 45 per week. I'll definitely put in an extra hour or whatever if I want to get a project done, I'm totally fine with that, but my boss and I have a great relationship actually and I know he values me too much to try to bully me into any shit I don't want to do.
  12. Do we really want to see what current Ubi would do to Splinter Cell...?
  13. His overtly phallic head is sexual assault incarnate. He offends me. ...I do like his music a lot though.
  14. I hate The Who. Every time a shitty song comes on the Classic Rock station that I don't know, it always turns out to be The Fucking Who. Fuck you Roger Daltrey, gamers don't need you !!!!! Goddamn hypocrites.
  15. My favorite part of Death Stranding so far is that it has the ability to turn @SFLUFAN into Mr. Nasty Pants.
  16. I just skipped around the reveal trailer and was so confused, I just had to let it play from the beginning. Knowing it's Kojima, I don't mind this at least based on MGSV. That game had some of the absolute smoothest gameplay I've ever laid my hands on. Hype restored. Edit: The traversal looks really interesting, very into that.
  17. Californication: Season 6 - ???/10 This season is a total train wreck but I keep coming back for Hank, Karen, Charlie, Marcy and Stu's antics. The rest is just absurdly bad, kudos. I don't even know what to rate it because despite that, I keep watching!
  18. I think the real problem with that game was that it was yet another 3D Castlevania fail and it had a lot riding on it. I mean, it was a competent board-room type of game but also a brazen pastiche of every well-received game of its era. The overall feel and aesthetic was all over the place with no coherence and certainly no Castlevania flair. I kind of hate the game for driving yet another mediocre-at-best nail into the 3D Castlevania coffin. And what do they do with the second one? Double down on showcasing how little they understand the series. Best 3D Castlevania for my money is Bloodborne. It may not have platforming but fuck is that game everything I always wanted that to be.
