  1. There’s no “right” way to grieve. Just avoid hurting yourself and others, and everything else is fair fuckin’ game, man. Also, that “how’s it going?” scenario: it is absolutely acceptable to say “honestly? Pretty damn bad.” No need to do the big blow up speech you see in movies. Even that small release (in my experience) helps.
  2. There are smaller versions of the bundle available. The top games are only in the highest tier, middle games in the middle tier, and you can get the bottom three games for $1.
  3. I add and drop most of these services as “needed”, and I like Hulu, but it’s usually a pretty easy one for me to drop for like half the year. And I was on the annual plan for D+, but that’s going up by what, $40? No thanks.
  4. I would recommend picking up where you left off, finish it, and then you have the option of NG+, which is a really fun way to run through everything again.
  5. Unless something has changed with these patches, I believe magic (INT) is the generally agreed upon way to easily power through the game. Personally, I found magic to be kinda boring, and spent most of my time with the biggest sword or hammer I could find, cranked up my strength and endurance, and bashed skulls.
  6. I’m now completely hooked on 13 Sentinels, which I finally started after being inspired by this thread. Apparently it’s a 30-35 hour game, so I should be able to finish it this month.
  7. At least once every 10-15 minutes of play time, I catch myself saying “this game is fucking insane”, and 9 out of 10 times I mean it in a positive way.
  8. Finally got around to diving into this game. I wasn’t sure if I was going to gel with it at first. Given the time travel nature of the story and the wide ensemble cast it quickly throws at you, I have a hard time getting my bearings in the story side of the game. It’s tough for me to articulate, but I know there are things that are intentionally confusing, mysteries that I can’t solve because I just haven’t been given the clues. But there are other times when characters/events are mentioned and I have no idea what they mean, but I’m not sure if I’m missing their significance because I’m dumb, or if I shouldn’t know it yet. But for now I’m not going to worry about it too much, and just let it wash over me. As for the combat side of things, I’ve just done a few battles beyond the prologue/tutorial, and I like them so far. I like how they feel utterly chaotic, but manageable.
  9. I’ve settled on roughly two grocery store trips a week, on my way home from work. Just getting what I plan to eat for the next few days, 10 minutes I’m in and out.
  10. This is a pretty interesting case, because the movie is good. And part of what makes it good is that is pretty much sticks to the facts. There really isn’t anything all that “Hollywood” about it, other than bringing in a couple of big stars to play these dudes (and there are one or two quick “this is the Oscar clip” moments from them, but otherwise they are pretty quiet, grounded performances). So at that point, unless you just don’t like documentaries, there really isn’t much of a reason to watch this instead of The Rescue. But you can’t really knock a movie for that, especially since the doc came out less than a year ago, so this movie was probably already in production.
  11. It’s like designing a boss character in a video game. Give ‘em one obvious weak point.
  12. There’s plenty of fun to be had, especially if you go in expecting a goofy action movie. I was a little surprised that the source material is a novel and not an anime, because that’s the energy they seem to be going for.
  13. Good movie! The only other Predator movie I’ve seen is the original, and that was just a couple years ago. So I can’t really speak to how it fits into the legacy of the series or whatever, but it’s a lot of fun, and that’s all I needed.
  14. Started 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim as part of my mission to clear up my PS4 collection. In the first hour, I can’t quite tell if this is going to be a game that hooks me completely or loses me forever in hour 2. Really feels like it could go either way.
  15. In Bruges is pretty high on my list of favorite movies, so a reunion of these three guys is very exciting to me.
  16. Luckily, neither the doc or this movie acknowledge that dickbag. Anyway, good movie!
  17. @Brick Put one up on the big board! Credits roll on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
  18. This dropped on HBO Max recently, but only the dubbed version. I watched it anyway, and it is great!
  19. It’s looking like now I’ll fly in Wednesday morning, spend that afternoon probably just walking around. Then I’ll have all day Thursday to get one of these passes and just go hardcore tourist mode.
  20. I played several hours of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy today. It’s funny- at first, I thought “oh yeah, this is why I didn’t play this when it came out. I was kinda tired of the whole Uncharted deal. Jump along ledges, slide down a thing, climb something else, look around the environment for switches to flip, shoot a bunch of dudes while quipping, blah blah blah.” But once you get into the jungle and things open up more and you start getting more elaborate encounters, I remembered why I loved these games to begin with! I’ve been in a mild gaming funk where I wasn’t able to really stick to anything, but I’m going to barrel right through this one. Helps that it’s relatively short, of course.

  22. Bullet Train - Plays a lot like a live action cartoon, which I enjoyed. Fun cast, some good surprises despite seeing the trailer in front of every movie for the last 6 months.
