  1. Any money Chris gets from this thread, he’s gonna send it to me. He knows I need it, but am too stubborn to ask for help.
  2. That’s one that could use some kind of re-release. I tried to play it in like 2011 (in the ramp up to a game that apparently doesn’t exist) and I couldn’t get it to run smoothly on my PC.
  3. That still involves dedicating hundreds of hours to one story, but I suppose that might help me with one reason I tend to bounce off epic fantasies: keeping track of a thousand characters and locations that all have names that look like the author’s cat walked across the keyboard.
  4. This is never satisfying. I feel 5 pounds lighter, but the needle doesn’t move.
  5. Any place I’ve ever lived here in flyover country gets to experience a pretty wide range of temperatures over the course of a “normal” year. I never really thought of it as a plus, but I suppose that means I’m ready for just about anything.
  6. Reviews are (predictably) mixed. I’m going to try to see it tonight, depending on how late this other thing goes.
  7. I guess that shows that they're committed to it. There's no way I'll ever read a book series that long, so I hope this series is good.
  8. My completely baseless guess: it will be plenty artsy/weird, but this is an extremely expensive movie, and they need to try to sell it to a wider audience.
  9. I hope this is about people who start to walk into a classic horror movie scenario, realize it, say “nope”, then turn around, leave, and have happily normal lives.
  10. Damon and Affleck together in a movie they co-wrote? Sorry, I’m only going to be able to think of Good Will Hunting. How do you like them apples (in 14th century France)?
  11. I really enjoyed Us, but if you have a certain kind of brain, I can see how that movie just 100% doesn’t work for you.
  12. Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Jumping into the first game again felt great. It wasn't until I watched a comparison video that I realized just how much they did to it, but I did notice a few things on my own, like actually being able to use a sniper rifle (playing Vanguard). I'm also using that handy quick resume feature on the XSX to bounce around to a couple of different things. I'll jump into Tetris Effect for 10 minutes or so at a time. I like it, but also every time I get into I think "I would rather play Lumines" which is probably blasphemous. I also finally got around to trying Gears Tactics. It's alright, but I'm not sure if I'll stick with it for long. The latest mission I played, which ended with the first boss fight, really felt like a slog to get through. I'm at a similar point with Code Vein. After a couple of hours, I'm kinda into it, but not sure if I'll stick with it for long.
  13. Well, Tom Clancy’s name on a book also used to mean it was written by Tom Clancy, but that hasn’t been true for a long time.
  14. Tom Clancy’s XDefiant Is 80% Call Of Duty, 20% Overwatch And 0% Splinter Cell WWW.FORBES.COM Ubisoft has just revealed its new Tom Clancy game, the oddly-named XDefiant, which is veering very much outside the existing style and gameplay of the universe. lol
  15. I don’t really like tomatoes. I don’t mind most greens, but I don’t usually want them on a sandwich. Shit, am I aligning myself with Bacon in a food thread?
  16. “I don’t know. If I was in seventy films in thirty years and I spent each one speaking at random volumes, I might accidentally win an Oscar.” -Shirley Bennett on Nicolas Cage
  17. Peanut butter filled pretzels are my current vice, which are actually fairly close to Combos now that I think about it.
  18. This seems like a cool piece of tech, but I’m just not interested in handhelds any more. If I traveled as part of my job or something, this would be nice to have.
  19. Yeah, it’s pretty clear they want to have at least one big series running at any given time. So there will always be either a Marvel or Star Wars show either airing or just around the corner. It’s more or less what every service tries to do. Netflix has a noteworthy movie or series drop pretty much every week, but they are aiming a lot wider, and aren’t limited to a few IPs, so it isn’t as blatant.
  20. I love Combos, but they were a go-to snack for me when I was at my fattest, so they’ve developed a negative connotation for me.
