  1. I love the idea of the Deck, but the only thing that would be more wasted on me than a gaming PC is a handheld gaming PC.
  2. Yeah, since I’ve avoided most open world action games for the last few years (not just Far Cry) I might be ready for this one. But I’m busy with a bunch of games at the moment, plus Metroid Dread is also coming this weekend, I can wait for a sale.
  3. I’m already bouncing between like 6 games at the moment, but I’ll probably end up buying and playing this over the weekend.
  4. Apparently this show is also a hit in the key middle school demo. My niece (who couldn’t make it through Hunger Games) started watching it because “everyone” at school was. Her mom walked in halfway through the first episode and made her turn it off, saying “trust me, you don’t want to watch this.” The kid didn’t listen, snuck into living room after the parents were asleep, and kept watching. Guess the point in that first episode where she ran into her parents room, waking them up, crying and screaming “who does that? Why do people like that!?!”
  5. The writer/director says: I’ve also seen people suggest it works as a call back to the first game (he does stop, after all).
  6. Who plays the Canadian defector? Cobie Smoulders? Justin Bieber?
  7. This in addition to other upcoming Netflix series “The Midnight Club”, which sadly has little to do with street racing.
  8. Other than buying way too many games from Steam sales/Humble Bundles, I never really appreciated most of the benefits of PC gaming, so at this point I’m just going to give up trying to stay current with hardware and stick to consoles for new games.
  9. Hmmm, do I load up my account now, to stock up on Vita games I’ll never play? It’s tempting.
  10. I guess if your whole game is a giant mess of characters from different IP, Sora is a natural fit. I had my fingers crossed for everyone’s new favorite voice actor, Chris Pratt.
  11. I’ll watch this again at some point. I might have still been in high school when I watched it the first time, and I didn’t dig it at all. But I’ve bounced off of other Lynch stuff in the meantime (I’ve tried getting into Twin Peaks three different times for example), so maybe it’s just not for me.
  12. I don’t want to victim blame or anything like that. It was professional production and there’s never an excuse. But hearing that a woman’s bare breasts were grabbed during the making of the Blurred Lines music video is maybe the least surprising story in this thread.
  13. I dunno, I had a blast with this movie. Big dumb fun, in and out in like 80 minutes. I could use more comic book movies like this.
  14. Just finished it. Really enjoyed it overall. I think maybe the single smartest thing the series does is pretty early on.
  15. I loved the movie from a few years ago. I didn't even know there was a show.
  16. It's funny that it popped up here, because I've been thinking about Lion a lot recently. I really loved it and felt deeply connected to the story, although the story of my own adoption was infinitely less dramatic than his. Like, if I wanted to find my birth mom, it would probably take like 2-3 phone calls, max.
  17. I guess I'm part of the problem, because there's a good chance I never would have noticed this change, and now that it's pointed out to me, I don't particularly care. I have at least half of the seasons on DVD that I could dig if I really wanted to honor the artists' original vision or whatever. I'll probably end up watching most of these episodes on my phone during my lunch break, which also definitely wasn't intended in the early 90's.
  18. I rewatched all of the Craig Bond movies over the last couple weeks. I don't have much of anything new or insightful to say about them. Casino Royale and Skyfall are great, Spectre is disappointing but still fun, Quantum of Solace is pretty much just a mess (understandable, given that it was a rush job during the writers strike).
  19. I laughed when I logged onto Netflix and Seinfeld was the first thing I saw. The day they released Roma, I had to search for it, but Jerry? Right there up top.
  20. I tried a little bit of Lemnis Gate. It seems like a really cool concept, but I had a really hard time getting the hang of it.
