Yeah, that’s the tricky part. Just like with the actual library, sometimes you’ve gotta be patient. It’s understandable with new, in-demand books, but sometimes I’ll try to get some smaller book from 20 years ago, and there’s 5 holds on the one “copy” available. But it’s free, and sadly I’m too cheap to spend much money on books. Partly because there are these free options, and partly because I have terrible reading habits and will often abandon a book 5 chapters in, even if I was enjoying it.

What names are people using? There are a lot of great/dumb options, but for whatever reason I really get a kick out of being called Homeslice.

Yep. There is an app called Libby (overdrive.com is the website) that lets you borrow ebooks and send them to your Kindle devices. You just need a library card to sign up. There is also Kanopy.com that’s a good little streaming source for indie, foreign films and documentaries. Hoopla is another service that offers ebooks, audiobooks, comics, and movies. Their collection isn’t always the most exciting, but sometimes you can find some gems.

I mostly use my local library for DVDs (I know, I know, I’m an animal) and books for my Kindle via Libby.

Yes, you can change everything, as well as mix and match voice, pronouns, body, all of it.

I grew up in a fairly strict Catholic environment, but never really bought into it. Several of those long dialog scenes feel like they could have ripped right out of my life. Well, the scenes in this show were better written and performed, and the people generally more beautiful, but you know what I mean.

General Gaming What are you playing today?
TheLeon replied to CastlevaniaNut18's topic in The Spawn Point
Still chugging through ME3. It’s wild how little of this game I remember. I’m also dipping my toe back into Monster Hunter with Rise. At some point I’ll probably need to get more involved in the minutiae of it all, but for now I’m just running up to mofos and smashing ‘em with my hammer. Fun stuff. -
I like ‘em all, pretty much. The only time I’m ever disappointed with a fry is the sad little undercooked, unseasoned crinkle cut that I associate with shitty cafeterias.

I referenced this classic at work today and nobody knew it :(

Y’all have never ridden the Turquoise Jeep before, and that makes me sad. What if I asked to Lemme Smang It, girl? -
I’ll probably jerk it some time this evening. I can do it in your name, if you’d like.

I order pretty regularly from a local place that is only a tiny step above a Panda Express, and orange chicken is my go-to order. Everything else I’ve tried from there has been disappointing, but the orange always delivers.

I guess this is the month where I find out if I have a real data cap. Downloaded a bunch of random Game Pass stuff the other day, now 102 gigs for this fucker. I only have the appetite for like one racing game every couple of years. I played a lot of Horizon 3, but not much of 4. Can’t remember why. I’m looking forward to this.

I can finally articulate why I don't like Halloween
TheLeon replied to Fizzzzle's topic in The Shower
Spending a week doing overnights to set up the Halloween section at Target is what really killed it for me. Spending the bulk of my 20’s in retail ruined a lot of things for me. -
And chocolate covered potato chips are amazing. I’ve never mixed PB and chips before, but this makes sense as a package.
