  1. The Raiders team is all about offence, and a big part of that is the "NFL's most expensive O-Line" -- and much of that looks in doubt this weekend. RT -- Trent Brown is out (played 3 snaps this year), currently on Covid-related IR; Sam Young is backup and has played "spottily"; When he went down, they tried Denzelle Good at RT -- which was a disaster -- and was a big part of why the Raiders lost to the Pats RG - Gabe Jackson has played well most of the season (except when he was ejected in TB game for a reason no one can find on tape) he is currently Questionable with illness; Not sure whether John Simpson (who didn't play well when he played LG) or Patrick Omameh (who we haven't seen) wouul replace him Centre -- Rodney Hudson looks set to start LG -- Richie Incognito has been IR since week 2 with an Achilles injury; Denzelle Good has been pretty good in relief RT -- Kolton Miller is doubtful with an ankle injury and is likely to miss the second week in a row; Brandon Parker has been spotty in relief (particularly in pass protection) So we could be looking at an OL of Young, Omameh, Hudson, Good, Parker (1 starter) against the Broncos-- If that is the case I gotta think they will play a heavy dose of the run game -- as Parker/Young are better at run blocking than pass protection. Even still, there is a reasonable chance of an upset.... Case in point from last weekend... This is the end of the 2nd quarter, 13 seconds left. Waller is wide open at the top for an easy touchdown. Sam Young is absolutely dominated and pocket collapses. As a Raiders fan, it would be really fun to see the 5 starters play together -- because I think this offence could be something special.
  2. [Sung to the tune of Tomorrow from the Annie musical/movie] The benchmarks will get better Tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow There'll be better! Just thinking about Ray Tracing Clears away my doubts, And the sorrow 'Til there's none! When I'm stuck in a day With low framerate, And resolution, I just stick out my chin, And Grin, And Say, Oh New games will come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow Those new games Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always a day away When I'm stuck in a day With low framerate, And resolution, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say, Oh Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way!
  3. More: "Hockey is fucking awesome. Must buy anything hockey related." People who haven't lived in Ontario/Quebec (and to a lesser extent Illinois/Michigan/Minnesota) don't recognize how insanely popular hockey is among a fairly decent-sized group of people. (Enough for it to chart in the month of October, not enough to be on the top 20-30 for the year.)
  4. True. Game Pass is a great deal for people who want to play the specific games that are on the service. However, there are a tremendous amount of people who have different playing habits -- where paying $17 (Canadian) a month for that selection of games doesn't best fit how they use their consoles/PCs.
  5. That's entirely what one would expect given the similarity of architectures -- that PS5 would run @~3/4 of the resolution of SeX. I agree. Some other takeaways I have: 1) SeS doesn't look a 1440p machine anymore -- running sub-1080p for WDL. 2) I think we know what the reviews of AMDs RDNA2 GPUs will be like. Beginning of review -- showing the cards being very competitive (or marginally better) than their NVidia counterparts in the usual benchmarks, then getting destroyed in Control, WDL and CyberPunk. 3) Those tensor and RT cores that take up all of that die space on NVidia GPUs, actually provide some benefit... AMD reps have made very vague referecnes to a new scaling method in development for several years -- and the quotes I saw suggested it was not using DLSS-like technology. I don't we should hold our breath for anything in the short term.
  6. Watch Dogs: Legion - how does console ray tracing compare to Nvidia RTX? So, in this example, according to DF, SeX performs somewhat south of a RTX-2060 Super for RT.
  7. They're largely a port/remaster studio. I don't think they've made an original game in almost 15 years. Why bother. Fixed. (Technically, they also did some X360 ports too.)
  8. Week 10 Feature Game Indianapolis Colts $5,000 QUESTIONS 1) Colts TD 2) Colts 3) Minnesota 4) Joe Burrow 5) Miami, Seattle, Buffalo 6) Henry Ruggs 7) 7 8) Josh Jacobs, DK Metcalf
  9. I have two. One, I purchased myself. The second, was given to me by my mother (who hates cast iron), who took it from my grandmother's kitchen when she moved into a retirement home. I don't have a date on it -- but, it's probably from the 30s or 40s -- and is in great condition.
  10. I think my experience was largely similar to yours -- although I attributed it to different issues with the game design than you do. Since I was able to beat mobs that were several levels higher than me, I felt it wasn't so much to do with overlevelling. Rather, for me, I suspect it had to do with how easy it was to stack abilities that created very OP attacks. Combine that with enemies that felt very samey and didn't have very good AI, and it became very easy. Some of the combat became (slightly) more challenging in the DLC, as there were some new monster/human types introduced. (And some difficult boss fights -- the final boss in Blood and Wine was tough until I figured out his patterns.) IMHO, the story stays strong. I found the two DLCs had really interesting stand alone Witcher stories. So, they're probably worth your time if you enjoy the lore.
  11. If she wanted to stay in caucus, she needed to give a contract to someone else (like a charity) that would pay her sister for spurious speaking engagements.
  12. Just finished up Witcher 3. Started The Sexy Brutale -- played through the tutorial and first two missions and decided that this game was not for me. Playing through the Witness now. I am conflicted on how much I like it. Frequently, I really enjoy the puzzle design, and then other times, I bang my head against the wall for a bit, finally figure it out and say "that was stupid/random". Most of the areas aren't hard (they may have 1-2 hard puzzles), but some (like the desert and the like the symbol that looks like 3 lines going to points of a triangle) just didn't have good intros into what the puzzles were all about. (I'm at the point where I have maybe 7-8 lasers turned on -- don't really have a feel for if this is FAR into the game, or right near the beginning).
  13. The first systems capable of 3D graphics were in the early/mid 80s -- but those were run on the CPUs (first game I played was Elite on a BBC Micro). So, I voted "other". First game I remember playing with 3D "accelerated" graphics was StarFox on my buddy's SNES -- but that accelerator was in the cartridge, not the system. As 32X was plugged-into the cartridge port of a Genesis, I'm going to say that's not part of the "system" either. I don't think any of the 3DO's chips were dedicated to 3D. (Was 3DO 92-93?) About this time, the first PC 3D graphics accelerators came out (I'm guessing 93/94). I think PSX was the first console with a chip more-or-less dedicated to 3D built into the system. (September '95 in NA, '94 in Japan)
  14. I’ve played (and completed) all of the Mass Effect and Witcher games. I’ve never played a Bethesda RPG for more than a couple of hours.
  15. Raiders OL was sketchy against the pass, some questionable play calls, and generally terrible defence. Fortunately they were playing the Chargers -so it was a W. Hopefully, they can get healthier for next weeks Bronco’s game.
  16. Probably nothing. Will get AC: Valhalla and Cyberpunk eventually, but will probably wait for the discounting.
