CitizenVectron Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 https://deadline.com/2020/09/jonathan-majors-ant-man-3-marvel-universe-1203028234/ Quote After a star-making turn in HBO’s hit series Lovecraft Country, Jonathan Majors is now ready to make his mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way. Majors has been tapped for one of the lead roles in the next Ant-Man movie opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. The studio had no comment, but sources close to the project say he is likely to play the super-villain Kang the Conquer. Sources add that like with so many new characters in the MCU, there could be a twist with how the character is featured in future films, but as of now he is likely to be one of the main villains in the next installment in the franchise. Whoa! Quote
CitizenVectron Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 I wonder if this is a way to also bring in/bridge the Fantastic Four. Quote
Jason Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 They should have the deus ex machina that defeats him be Kodos. Quote
CitizenVectron Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 Also the rumours for Ant-Man 3 have been that it would either introduce the FF or the Young Avengers. Personally I'm rooting for Alpha Flight! 2 Quote
TwinIon Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Is this good? I've never heard of Kang. I haven't heard of the Young Avengers either, but I would be shocked if they drop the Fantastic Four into Ant-Man 3. I feel like FF are a big enough deal that they'd introduce them in their own movie. Quote

I think it would be weird to just drop them in without introduction, this allows them to skip or massively shorten the FF origin story. Plus Kang premiered in FF and is a direct decedent of Reed Richards Quote
SimpleG Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 I get all moist thinking about this, they bring FF and then we get Namor . Get Ma Dong Seok to cut weight to play him and I am in heaven. Quote
Remarkableriots Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Jonathan Majors was also in The Last Black Man in San Francisco. I don't remember seeing anybody mention this movie before on here. That's a shame because it's a very good movie! Quote
Joestradamus Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 I wish I didn't know this was happening, thanks title with spoiler. Quote

skillzdadirecta Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Given Ant Man's tone, I fully expect this Kang to be a joke villain. Probably not even a time traveler to be honest. Kang has one of the most convoluted origins in the Marvel U Quote

As far as Ant-Man's tone goes, both of his other villains were serious even though the rest of the film is light and jokey. Scott having to deal with his first real Marvel villain sounds awesome.
