Breaking: SCOTUS rules 5-4 against Trump administration's "methodology" for ending DACA program

Recommended Posts

I get the impression that the Supreme Court gave Trump a roadmap to overturn DACA after the November election so as to not jeopardize Trump’s election chances overturning an overwhelmingly popular program for 800,000 young Dreamers....

interesting take from someone on twitter..

That's exactly what happened.

It's effectively the same situation that occurred with the travel ban: the Court overturned the administration's initial ham-fisted approach and showed them they way to implement it in a way that would pass judicial review.

The thing to keep in mind about "oh SCOTUS is just showing him how to do it legally," he has a whole team of lawyers whose job it is to do that before he does anything. Each agency has whole legal divisions whose job it is to do that. He's just too dumb and lazy to do it right and it's a huge waste of SCOTUS' time to perform basic legal counsel work for him.

When the people leading government blatantly use "might makes right" (instead of simply insinuating it through the enforcement of laws, etc), then it's time for the people to counter with might (starting with peaceful mass protests and strikes).

🤷‍♂️
